"Park here." Silvo demanded suddenly.

I braked quickly and we both fell forward. As usual, being the safety freak I was, had my seat belt on, unlike Silvo who fell face first into my scratched dashboard.

"What the hell? My nose hurts now. Are you trying to break everything I own?" He snapped.

"Well sorry, but you did tell me to park here." I growled.

"Just get out the car already. I have things to do, besides making you buy me a new skateboard."

Cursing myself and my clumsiness this morning, I climbed out the car. Of course the first time I spoke to Silvo would be him yelling at me.

"So, where are we going?" I asked cautiously, not wanting him to get mad.

"Don't know yet, I'm thinking. Why do you not stop talking?" He smirked at me. "Don't cry about it though."

I scowled, my patience slowly running out for the arrogant boy stood beside me.

"You are such a devil." I whispered under my breath.

"I'm a what?" He growled, but started chuckling when he saw my terrified face. “Can we just go already?” He says, tugging on the sleeve of my dark blue sweatshirt, smirk still plastered to his face.

I am fuming silently to myself when I hear someone shouting from across the street.

“Yo, Silvo!” We both turn towards the owner of the powerful voice. Sidling up to us is Theo Greenleaf, star quarterback of the school. I am rooted to the spot, terrified of all the many ways I can embarrass myself if he talks to me. My mind is completely blank and you could almost say I was star struck. But, my god, he was even hotter than I though close up.

“Hey man, what’s up?” Silvo asked as Theo reached us.

“Nothing much. Just waiting for the boys; we’re supposed to be buying all the stuff for Chuck’s party tonight. You are coming right? It’s going to be fucking awesome man.” Theo’s chestnut hair flopped over his ridiculously tanned forehead, considering it was only April.

“Yeah of course I’m coming! Any party Chuck throws is good.”

“And who is this? Introduce me.” Theo smiled, looking me up and down. Feeling pretty self conscious, I could almost feel the red seeping up my cheeks.

“Oh yeah, um this is Lois. She’s buying me a new skateboard.” Silvo said quickly.

“What school to you go to? I’m sure I would remember if I had seen you before.” Theo directed this at me, his soft blues eyes fixed on mine.

“I go to Madison.” I tittered awkwardly.

“What? No way. Hey Silv, is this true?”

“Um, yeah. I’d never seen her either though.” Silvo seemed anxious to finish the conversation and leave Theo and to be honest I was hoping that it would all be over soon. I didn’t want to be there when the rest of the jocks arrive.

To my dismay and unluckiness, I heard a roaring engine and then a flashy convertible speed around the corner. Roars of laughter were emerging from the sleek, red car and as they drew closer I heard shouts directed at us.

Six of the jocks (I have no idea how they all fit in the small car) climbed out onto the pavement, all slapping Theo and Silvo on the back and giving them fistbumps.

“What’s up? Haven’t seen you for a while Silv.” Richie Tate asked before his brown eyes darted over to me. Richie was huge; at least 6ft 5 and I could have sworn he was at least 20. “And who is this lovely lady?”

“She goes to our school! Did you know that?” Theo cut in, amazement still in his voice.

“Fuck me…How come I’ve never noticed you before?” Richie asked, while the rest of the jocks nodded in agreement.

I shuffled from foot to foot, trying to think of a good answer.

“I don’t really know.” I stammered, mentally punching myself for not being smoother.

“You coming to Chuck’s party tonight?” Mike Anderson looked over at me.

Glacing towards Silvo, I could tell he was fuming.

"No I don't think she is. She told me she had plans." Silvo spat before I could say anything.

"Shame. Would of been fun, if you know what I mean." Ryan Marlo winked at me and I could feel the blush returning.

"Come on. All the shops will be closing." Silvo growled.

I waved goodbye, a small smile forced onto my face, but i was still trying to process what had just happened. I had been invited to a jocks party! By a jock! I looked over at Silvo who still looked furious and wondered what had got him so mad.
