Predator and prey.

You found me when I was in pieces,
The destruction left in her wake.
I thought you were my savior,
The peace I finally deserved.
But I couldn't have been any wrong,
I just couldn't see.
The silence was just the calm before the storm.
You held me not to protect me,
But to make sure I didn't run away.
You put me back together, piece by piece,
Not in the name of love.
You just didn't like wounded prey.
And then you let me run , just to hunt me down again.
Because that's what predators do, they don't eat what they don't kill.
Maybe this time , I don't want to escape.
I've been trying all this while,
You are my only solace.
And just maybe, I want this to end by your hands.
But I want to make this fun for both of us.
So I'll be your willing prey,
And I'll run,
Slow enough for you to get me,
Fast enough to keep you interested.
