Standing there was Matt's new friend.
I smiled and Matt ran over to me.
"I invited him to come. Sorry. I should've asked first." He said, looking guilty.
"Don't worry about it. Any friend of yours is a friend of mine." I said with a smile.
He smiled too and kissed me on the cheek.
"You're the best." He said.
I walked over to Mike, who was awkwardly standing outside the backyard door.
"Hey." I said.
"Hey. I'm sorry about just waking in. I heard voices so I kinda let myself in." He said, looking to see how I would react.
"It's fine. Don't worry, I'm not gonna kick you again." I said with a laugh.
He smiled an it seemed to get a little brighter out here.
"It's nice to see you again, Cynthia." Mike said.
"It's good to see you too, Mike." I said with a smile.
He opened his arms and I shrugged, giving him a hug.
I pulled away and smiled.
"Well, come say hi to everyone." I said, waving him forward.
He smiled and walked next to me.
"You look really great." Mike said.
I smiled but I suddenly felt self conscious.
I was wearing short black shorts with a white wife beater.
I never worried about dressing this way at my house.
Brian loves it and the guys seeme as a sister.
I felt my cheeks heat up a little as I saw Mike looking me up and down out of the corner of my eye.
We reached the guys and Zacky and Brian finally stood up from their little scuffle.
Mike greeted the guys and then stood looking at Brian.
He had never met him before so obviously he didn't know who he was.
"Oh, Syn, this is Mike." Matt said with a smile.
"Mike this is Brian." Matt said.
Mike smiled and put his hand out.
"Hey Brian. It's nice to meet you." He said with a smile.
"Nice to meet you too." Brian said, smiling back.
"So this is your boyfriend that you love so much?" Mike asked, looking at me with a smile and then turning back to Brian.
I went next to Brian and put my arm around his waist.
Brian smiled and squeezed me tight.
This is the most affection I've shown him in a while.
"This is him." I said, patting Brian's chest.
"You're lucky." Mike said, looking at me now.
It got really quiet.
Awkwardly quiet.
"Yeah, I know. So you're the one that was laying on top of my girlfriend, huh?" Brian said in a curt voice.
I gave him a squeeze and pulled him to the table.
"Let's eat." I told everyone loudly.
We all came to the table and I saw Matt smack Mike on the back of the head.
"What was all that about?" Val asked.
"That's what I want to know." Brian said angrily.
"I have no idea." I said.
I turned to Brian.
"And don't you start." I told him firmly.
He looked down at his food but I could tell he was angry.
"Dig in everyone." I told them.
They didn't hesitate.
We were all eating and making small talk when Val's mouth fell open, letting some food drop out.
Val, that's gross."I said with a laugh.
She didn't even hear me.
Her eyes were focused on something behind me and her eyes were quickly filling with anger.
I turned to Brian when I heard him cuss under him breath.
I turned around and figured out why everyone was quiet and wide eyed.
Standing at my back door, wearing shorts that barely covered her ass and a very revealing top, was Michelle.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Val said.
She stood up quickly from the table.
"I'm gonna handle this shit right now." Brian growled under his breath.
He stood up too and I saw Michelle smirk as she saw Brian coming towards her.
