His Eyes

Some days it is like looking into the ocean
Bright blue, left and right
Reflecting the light
Why won’t he share that happiness with me?

And then it fades
The light goes away
The blue gets dull, like an old painted wall
The ocean I had once known
Dried up in an instant
Taking the happiness with it.

Darkness takes over
And sleep goes away
Any blue left in that ocean
Turns into grey

Grey, without any color
Dark like the night
Sadness has swept over him
Like oil in an ocean

But then the oil washes away
The sun rises again
A hint of blue sky shows up
And he’s happy again

But if something goes wrong
Baby blue will go away
Metal grey, monochrome, will take its place

An ever changing ocean.
