Kimi just doesn't exist here

It was early in the afternoon on a clear day. The sky was a clear blue, the color of it giving the mostly grey campus a feeling of lightness. There hadn't been a cloud in the sky, leaving the sun to freely spread its glowing warmth to the world below it. This made almost everyone happy, especially the birds who out of everything knew this warmth will be gone just as fast as it came. All was cheery in the setting, all except for a young girl.

It seemed to be the worst day for her.

The day started with her being late for class and her professor calling her out on it. Then having to force down a sandwich since she agreed to have lunch with a companion, which she ultimately threw up. This was to avoid suspicion that she was a ghoul, which was true. Now after lunch she sat in the courtyard, papers thrown across the table. That assignment she was given was everything but simple. In fact she was pulling her hair out, a few bags growing under her once bright {e/n} eyes. Thanks to today she had looked like a mess and was just about ready to cry.

A small breath escaped her mouth then she picked up a few papers, her eyes scanning over the words. She tried her best to make sense of her scribbly handwriting, squinting to see if the words made sense. Just as the words started to actually look like words, a gust of wind blew half the papers off the table.

"Wha-...No!" She'd yell then jump off the bench. Her hands flailed and she grabbed a few papers from the winds grasp, running to collect a few off the ground once the wind died. She thought she had saved most of them, counting all the papers within her arms as best she could before she felt someone tap her shoulder. Quickly she turned to become face to face with Nishiki, or well face to chest since he was so tall.

"Oh, Nishiki..."She trailed off then snatched the papers from his hand, seeing it was her notes.

"Yeah you dropped those." He said and pointed to the papers she just grabbed from him.

"Thanks." She sighed then organized the papers in her hands.

Nishiki watched her for a moment then frowned, she was really a mess. Her hair was in knots and stuck up in spots while her clothes were all askew. She had looked rushed, if he needed to pick a word to describe it. Her once tucked in shirt had parted fallen out and looked ruffled, while only one sleeve remained rolled up.

"Eh...Are you alright {Y/n}?" He asked.

In the moment she froze, looking up from her papers at the man. No one had asked that all day and now that she thought about it, she wasn't alright. Even though Nishiki seemed to care she wasn't sure, since he normally didn't. Nishiki had only taken an interest since she seemed different today, not just out of character but another kind of different. Normally {Y/n} masked her scent rather well, Nishiki had no idea she was a ghoul because of it. But since she was running late this morning she forgot to do essential things, for example she barely got time to brush her teeth. She didn't have time to clean herself up, so her scent was strange. Even though Nishiki would have the easiest time figuring out she was a ghoul she befriended him as best she could, since if anyone did find out he would understand better.

She carried her things back to the table where her bag and most her work was, the red head following behind. He'd sit at the table, setting his bag down next to him. Nishiki then focused his gaze on her, trying to figure her out. He'd think about many possibilities, perhaps she came into contact with a ghoul? Or he was just imagining things. Feeling him stare she looked up.

"What?" She'd question.

"You look like shit today." He said rather bluntly. He didn't want her to know what he was thinking about and it was true, she knows it too.
