"As we grow up, we realize it is less important to have lots of friends, and more important to have real ones"

-Unknown

The world changes after high school, my life changed more this summer than any before. Getting into the college of my dreams, having my best friends with me and all of us are together. I wanted this year to matter, I wanted to do something to make a change. Making any changes that can help those in my community. Little did I know it's gonna hit home...it's gonna change my life, help me learn and show me the way of this world.

"You really are no help," Logan grumbles glaring. Smirking at his childishness; I pick up the box and follow him into our home. Walking into the nice home, well decorated which sure as hell isn't because of Logan. Pictures of my friends and I from diaper days to now...our amazing college days.

"Where are the other idiots?" Logan places the box on the floor before looking at his phone.

"At school, Amber should be home first. She's been...crazy lately." Logan spoke before leaving me to get the other boxes. Lucky for me I know which room is mine, Logan would be a horrible host. My roommate is Emily which is more of a blessing than anything. Emily is trying to become a lawyer. One of the smartest, stupidest girls I've ever met.

I have seven roommates, all I've known since I was little. Gage, Alec, Logan, Bre, Amber, (I would be next), Emily and Jake. Gage two years older than me, Alec and Logan are a month apart and one year older than me. Bre is one month and 20 days older than me, Amber is little under a month older than me. Emily is four months younger while Jake is one-year younger than me. Our friendship is more like siblings at this point.

"Hanna, I want you to meet some of the kids from my class. Trust me you will enjoy them." Logan spoke placing my last box down. "Glad to have you here," Logan spoke pulling me into a tight ass hug. Wrapping his arms around my waist catching my arms in his bone-crushing hug.

"Glad....let....go...can't....need....air." Logan smiles before letting go slowly. "God, go all Hulk on me." I shake my head before he kisses my forehead.

"IS MY BITCH HERE YET!" Emily screams before running up the stairs, we made eye contact and next thing I know is this dumb bitch is on top of me smiling down at me.

"God, you're heavier than a damn cow."

"Cows hold grudges." She spoke before moving her body against mine, digging her butt bone into my thighs. "I will hold one too." She smiles before leaning down hugging me close. "I missed you! How's the city kid like sweet little Colorado?"

"Firstly, get your ass off me. Secondly, I am a native here in little Colorado, I moved because my mother got remarried. New York City wasn't for me. So very happy." Emily smiles giggling slightly before standing off me.

After talking and forcing Em and Logan to help me set up my side, the rest of my people came home and helped. They all slowly making comments on me suddenly being a city kid...I'm no city kid. All of them are still the same...all but Amber, she was always the smart one, clever, shy and got us to do the stupid shit. She now seems...louder, closed off....and a partier.

"She's going through something," Alec whispers to me as he hands me the picture of us all at summer camp...well Cop Camp. That was a summer never to forget. "This boy Dallas Heart loves her, she....pushes him away."

"She might not like him-"

"Han...somethings up with Amber." Alec looks at her, worried and scared about Amber, I can tell by their faces that this isn't a joke.

"She's partying more and more Han, she's acting so reckless." Gage joined in patting his brother's arm.

"Talk to her." I look back at the almost empty box.

"We tried...she said she's just living life." I look at them...seeing how worried and scared they are. Our whole life Alec and Gage called us their little sisters, god help those who try and harm us. Last time Bre got her heart broken because of a boy. That boy had been pushed into a garbage can and pushed down the hall.

"Let her come to us, we can figure it out. We are her best friends." I pat their heads before smiling slightly at them standing tall. I know her deep secrets...both Bre and I know Amber has...taken cocaine in high school, we stopped that quickly and tried to protect her, protecting someone from demons isn't easy. Amber will tell someone whats wrong like she has before. I know she will.

Sorry, this is so short, it's just so you get a little taste of what this is gonna be about. I hope you can understand it's a little glimpse haha!
