Epilogue

I walk into my dad's office watching him putting guns away. “Back to storage?” I quesstion.

         “That's the plan.” He replies.

“What if we have a different plan?” Allison asks.

“Deaton said what we did in order to find you would draw things here, like a Beacon.” I add.

“I hope not.” Dad replies while shutting the gun case.

“We want to be prepared, learn to be better fighters, learn all the things you can still teach us.” I say.

“Maybe a few things more.” He says.

“But we're gonna have a new code. Nous sommes avec ceux qui se tiennent avec nous.” Allison says in perfect French.

I look at her in surprise, she want to use my code? I smile at her. My dad looks between the two of us and smiles.

“We stand with those who stand with us.”

The next day I drove up to Derek's. He told me he was leaving. I pulled open the loft door to see Derek and Cora both with bags in their hands. Cora look between Derek and I. “I'll give you a minute.” She says. She walks out to the car carrying stuff with her.

“So you're leaving huh?” I question sadly a weight dropping in my stomach.

“Yeah.” Derek replies in the same tone.

I wrap my arms tightly around his torso with my hands inside his jacket. He wraps his arms around me and holds me tightly against him.

“I'm gonna miss you.” I mumble. “I'm gonna miss you too.” He replies.

I pull away just enough to look at him.  “It seems like one of us is always leaving.” I state.

“I know, but it won't always be like that. High school's only another year right?” I smile he said the same thing when I first came back.

“You act like were gonna be together forever.” I say with a small smile while looking up at him.

“I would like that.” He says with a smile.

I move my arms from his torso to his neck. I give him a soft kiss. He kisses me back.

Then pull back and put our foreheads together. He moves his hand down to my hip then the other to my cheek. He pulls me into a kiss, I kiss him back our lips moving in sync. I don't want him to go. He deepens the kiss and his grip tightens on the fabric of my shirt.

I pull back first very slowly, the kiss lingering between us.

We put our foreheads together with my eyes closed. “I really wish you didn't have to go.” I whisper.

“I know, but it won't be as long this time. I promise.”

I'm really gonna freaking miss him.

“It just seems that every time it's always you or me that leaves and doesn't come back for a long time.” I say.

“I know but it won't always be like this.”
