~ The Poldarks Estate ~     ~ Two years later ~

When eight year old Ross woke up from his dream about adventures he quickly got ready for the day and rushed downstairs for breakfast. As he went down the stairs and into the kitchen he could smell the fresh baked toast, oatmeal, bacon, and apples that were about to be served to the Poldarks. He rushed to the table to be met by his parents reading the paper and sewing. He sat at the table which had his art supplies and started a picture for Luna. When breakfast was finally ready to eat, the Poldarks gathered around and talked about their plans for the day.

"May I go see Luna after breakfast? I wanted to go to a new part of the beach I discovered." Little Ross said in excitement.

"After your tutoring lessons and a walk through at the mines with your father, then you may go see her," replied his mother.

"Awwwe but I wanted to give her my drawing early! Must I have to do all of these grownup things?"

"Ross, listen to your mother. Just be glad she didn't add the chores you did not do yesterday to that list."

"Okay, okay. I'll do all that and THEN see Luna all day!"

His parents just laughed and they all continued to eat their breakfast with little talking.

"But I want to see my Ross NOW!!"

This morning at the Hart's was a struggle, a big struggle. Ross had dreamed of adventures but Luna had dreamed of nightmares, nightmares of war and Ross not being her friend. So, from those dreams she wanted to see him so she could hug him and never let go.

"Luna, for the last time, it is too early and you have reading and writing classes today. So stop this whining this instant." Her father said getting a headache. Yes, he loved that they had a little crush on each other and yes he loved that they held so much love for each other but today was not the day. Today Joesph and Lydia received news that there was a spy in their mining plans and the spy was from the Warleggan Estate. Since they were already stressed, they really didn't want Luna whining so early into the day.

"Sweetheart, how about we go on a walk and I tell you stories of your father and I for when we were younger."

"Okay mama. Later may we please go see Ross?"

"Yes my little moon. Later in the day we may go see them."

So as Luna and Lydia went for a walk, Joseph and and Joshua talked about the mines problems while Ross suffered doing school work.

                            ~ Hours Later ~

Ross was sprinting as hard as he could to the Hart's Estate. He had finally finished all this work and the stuff with the mines, so he was finally going to see his best friend. Luna was the same. She was running while holding her dress down because of the wind.

When the finally caught eye of each other they yelled in glee and hugged like it had been years and years. As they hugged Ross kissed the top of her head and whispered a hello.  She whispered one back and held his had as he lead the way to the small beach.

"Look Ross!! There's boats on the sand, let's go look and see what we find!"

"Okay!! As long as we split the findings and play as pirates."

"Okay but you have to rescue me because mama will kill me if I ruin another dress."

"Alright, you have my word."

Ross and Luna searched the two boats and found nothing but empty journals, sea shells, ropes, and baskets. The still split the findings to put in their memory chests and then played pirates together. Lydia and Grace decided to meet the kids at the beach for a picnic knowing they still wouldn't want to come home yet for it was still early evening. The men came down later as well after fixing the problem and making new plans for the mines. Together they watched the sunset while cooking the fish they caught on an open fire. They all shared stories and laughs as it was all calm around them and love surrounded them.

When it was time to leave the children threw another fit and almost cried. So Ross came up with a plan and asked if Luna could spend the night. The parents looked at each other before nodding and Luna and Ross yelled happily and hugged again. They all said goodnight and retired home. Luna and Ross were in his room playing chess and telling jokes all night long. They stayed up late drawing, playing with toys, telling made up stories, and promising never to leave one another. They snuggled up and fell asleep mid conversation but didn't mind.

"Hey Luna, wake up. Wake up Luna. LUNA!!"

"AAAHHH!!"

She glared up at Ross as he was laughing very hard because he had rolled Luna off his bed. "Ross!! I am going to get you back for this, that is no way to treat a lady!"

"Oh your fine. I had to wake you up somehow! Mama made homemade hot cakes with powdered sugar!!"

"Oh my heavens Ross! I can't wait, let's go!"

Ross swore that was one of fastest times he had ever witnessed her running and it was for hot cakes.

As they ran down the stairs they were overwhelmed with all the sugary smells. It was truly heaven in their little eyes. They both sat impatiently at the table ready to shove their faces with hot cakes and juice. When they finished they ran to the wheat fields and laid down holding hands and looked for shapes in the clouds. Earlier Ross had put flowers in Luna's hair because that made her look like a goddess and also said she looked beautiful. Luna looked away burning in the face while trying to hide a huge grin. Since Ross said he was to manly for flowers, Luna shoved grass into his locks. Needless to say, Ross was quite grumpy afterwards.

After having the flower and grass war, they fell back into the flower field and closed their eyes. They both decided a quick nap wouldn't hurt.

Okay!! Finally a chapter two!! Hope you enjoyed, they both are eight and still besties. I'm doing time skips but more memories for when they were younger pop up in flashbacks. Comment and vote - Lizzie
