It gets easier to lose touch with who we are
In a time when pretending is the easy way.
How can we be asked to stay true to ourselves
When playing a role is now the better option ?If all we play is a created character,
How are we still supposed not to start being it?
Is it not easy playing rather than being ?
Is it not easy hiding the unwanted truth ?Breaking down the walls and mask we put in our minds,
But has it not become easier said than done
When this character is all we know in our lives ?Can we look in the mirror and know who we really are,
When we don't know truly who our reflection shows ?
Is it the real us, or the one we've created ?This is actually not a one-shot, duh. But I wrote that earlier and I wanted to share it. It's actually the first "poem" in English I've ever written, so yeah.
