Justin's POV
Bitter sweet is how I described my coffee this morning. Taylah was over and the taste of the coffee she made me was horrible. She overloaded it with coffee beans, then, the evil girl she is, tried to cover it up with six table spoons of sugar. Six I tell you.
"Oh shut up, and quit cringing. If you don't like the damn coffee, don't drink it!" Taylah huffed angrily, crossing her arms across her chest as her lips formed a pout.
"Its not that it tastes like.... Crap, its just that I don't like the taste of a unicorns diarrhea." I mumbled, causing Taylah to grab a cookie and ditch it at my head. I chuckled softly, licking my lips.
"You're an asshole, you know?" Taylah frowned, "I try to do something nice, since you've been up the last few days working on your album - which by the way, sounds fabulous - and you just make me feel like the evil witch of the west."
"Wicked." I corrected.
"What?" She rose a brow in confusion.
"The term is Wicked Witch Of The West." I smiled, "If you listen correctly to the movie, Wizard Of Oz..."
"That's the one with Dory and the pink slippers?" Taylah asked.
"No," I snorted, "Its Dorothy, the red shoes, Toto, the dog. The one where the house falls on the witch at the start and then Dorothy follows the yellow brick road."
"Ah, I thought the road was red...." Taylah mumbled.
"You're an idiot." I smiled, standing up and taking the deathly coffee to the sink. I stared out the kitchen window and sighed, today marked the second anniversary of Jason McCann's death. I admit that I hadn't fully gotten over the incident, and there were nights in which I stayed up, thinking about the what if's. Today everyone was coming over to my house for a small gathering. By everyone, I meant Jake, Chaz, Ryan, Ellie and Tyler's older brother, Cole.
"Are you okay?" Taylah placed her hand gently on my lower back. I looked to her, sighing softly.
" I still remember the last conversation I had with him..." I said, biting my bottom lip. Taylah wrapped an arm around my waist.
"Yeah?" She looked up at me, her eyes soft and warm.
"I shouldn't have mentioned his father." I whispered, my eyes filling with unshed tears. I blamed myself for the death of Jason, I really did.
"Hey," Taylah forced me to look at her, she lifted herself onto her toes and pecked my cheek with her soft and comforting lips, "It wasn't your fault, Jason was hard-headed... it was bound to have happened sooner or later." She said slowly. I nodded, closing my eyes briefly.
"Justin! We're here!" Chaz's voice filled my house, and I smiled, pulling away from Taylah and headed towards the voices that followed after Chaz.
"Hey Justin," Jake appeared in front of me. Jake had gone through a growth spurt in the past two years, his hair had grown longer and he was beginning to grow some facial hair, not to mention his shoulders were more stocked up, due to his working out, but his voice still seemed as innocent as it always has been. "How've you been?"
"Not bad, Jake. You seem to be attracting some manly hair, growing out for the winter?" I chuckled.
"I'm eighteen, now." Jake scowled, "I'm no longer a short chubby child."
"Hey, I wasn't judging." I grinned, "How's things at your new flat?"
"Great," Jake smiled, "Lilly's moved in, and she's got her seven month pregnancy belly showing." Jake sighed happily.
