Bright light escaped past the dark curtains, signifying that morning had arrived. A hand slipped out of the covers shutting off the alarm that was blaring throughout the room, a groan following after.

'One more month of that, and then I won't have to worry about it anymore'. A creak sound echoed in Jacks ears. Looking up from his pillow he saw Emmett, the youngest of his cousins, trying to climb onto his bed. Having a hard time since he was small compared to the giant full sized mattress, one foot off the ground, he was having trouble climbing on. Chuckling at his little cousin's antics he leaned over and helped him up onto the bed.

"Good morning Jackie, how was your sleep?" Murmured Emmett as Jack placed him on the bed, using the nickname Jack only allowed him to use, and still learning to speak proper sentences. Emmett had been coming in to wake him up ever since he moved in with his aunt and uncle, he was very concerned (for a 5 year old) ever since his mom explained why Jack would be staying with them.

"Hey buddy, I slept well thank you, how about you?"

"I had another dream..."

Jack looked at Emmett with worry. For the past few months little Emmett had been having strange dreams night after night all the same, but different.

"Was this dream like the others?" Jack asked

"No, this time it wasn't like the others ones, it had you and a girl, she was really pretty."

Jack laughed at Emmetts statement. "And what was I doing in the dream?"

"Well, you were holding her in your arms like a prince, and you're hand was holding her face, and it was all glowy and weird. It looked really cool!" Jack chuckled as Emmett held out the L in really. Staring at the five year old with amusement and curiosity, there was suddenly a loud noise coming from down the hall. "GET BACK HERE!!!!!" a girls voice was heard throughout the house followed by screaming from a little boy. "I DIDN'T TOUCH YOUR STUFF JADA!!!!!" Ryan yelled."OH YEAH, THEN WHY IS EVERYTHING A MESS!!!!!" was followed after. Jack got up taking Emmett with him, to check on his two other cousins. Standing in the hallway, he watched the two throwing things at the other easily avoiding anything coming his way, then his aunt showed up.

"HEY! What in the world is going on?" aunt Dara asked sternly.

"Ryan destroyed my room," Jada answered.

"I did not, it was Carl's fault." Carl was Ryan's imaginary friend. He used him as an excuse for almost everything... almost.

"Yeah right mom he's lying." Aunt Dara sighed, this happened a lot, almost every week and it gets worse every time.

"What, did "Carl" do this time, Ryan?" She asks, the question rolling off her tongue smoothly from being used so often. "Well, Carl got mad at Jada for not letting us into the bathroom so..." Ryan explained. Aunt Dara, sighed, "Fine, tell "Carl" to apologize, and Jada share the bathroom." With that she went back downstairs to finish breakfast. Jada looked towards Jack, and glared, " What are you doing just standing there, why didn't you say something?" she's been annoyed for the past few months that he's been living here. They had to switch her out of the biggest room in the house so that Jack could have it since he was older than she was, he said he could live in the small room, but his aunt insisted. She was also annoyed by the fact that he always got away with everything. Just because he wasn't their kid didn't mean they couldn't scold him too. As the months went by, she was slowly getting accustomed to it, but not by much. "You are so annoying." she walked off when he didn't reply to her question. It was funny how flustered she got, but he can't say that, she'll only get more upset. Ryan is a different story. He's always been quiet, but even more so since Jack moved in. Jack wasn't sure if it was from intimidation or something else, but when Ryan found out that Jack was going to be staying with them he seemed to close himself off even more, especially since he had his imaginary friend Carl. It was strange at first, but considering his age it seemed pretty normal, also he didn't like to socialize so an imaginary friend was the next best thing for him. Going back to his room Jack set Emmett down so he could get ready for school.

The sun was barely peeking over the horizon when Aeliana awoke. Her surroundings were familiar, but she knew that it was far different from her home, the biggest difference was the noise not far from where she was laying. Slowly she mustered up the strength to get on her feet, her muscles aching from being on the ground.

'Now if only I knew where to find the boy' she thought as she made her way to where the noise was coming from. As she reached the source of the noise as she came upon a barrier, it was gleaming and tall seeming to surround the large building in the center of the barrier. Unsure of how to approach it she walked along side it until she found a gap that allowed entry onto the other side. An older gentleman seemed to notice her and asked why she wasn't in class.

'Why is this man speaking to me?' Aeliana thought, only to have her thoughts interrupted when a young man called out to the older gentleman, jogging over to them.

"Hey Mr. Applebee, I finished that script for the short film!" he stopped a few feet away from where Mr. Applebee was standing just noticing he was in the middle of a conversation with someone he's never seen before.

"Sorry, I didn't know you were busy." Jack said a bit flustered from running.

"That's alright, I was only asking this young lady why she hasn't headed off to class yet." Mr.Applebee replied, " In fact, why don't you escort her inside, I still need to gather the other stragglers around the school grounds. You can show me the script in class later today, now run along." and with that he left Aeliana and Jack to find students who were planning an escape from the days agonizing events.

Unsure of what to say Jack slowly turned to the girl in front of him. She was beautiful in an old timey kind of way, her hair was longer than most of the other girls in the school, and her clothes seemed very out of place.

"What's your name? I've never seen you around town before." he asked, he knew she wasn't from around the area, if she were he would've noticed her at the cafe his band played at, everyone in town goes there so there weren't that many faces he was unfamiliar with. Startled from his question the girl quickly turned to face him. He couldn't stop the small gasp that left his lips when she did. Her eyes were unlike anything he had ever seen, they were a light silver color and grew uneasy as he continued to stare. Unsure if she heard him he repeated the question. Aeliana's guard was up as the young man continued to stare at her, he was an attractive boy with sharp features and a good build for his age. Acknowledging his question she began to walk towards him since he was a few feet from where she was standing.

" I am Aeliana." Jack noticed that she had a slight accent he's never heard with a bit of a lighter tone of voice than most other girls he's met had. After being lost in thought he asked her to follow him, but was surprised to see that she was already ahead of him. Yelling at her to wait he ran only to realize that she was headed away from the school, so he sped up to get her attention.

"Hold on, my name is Jack Cross. I can help you if you're lost." he wanted to be sure that she would be alright since she seemed to be new in town. Stopping at hearing his name she turned to him, her eyes suspicious, but curious as she walked back towards him. Never losing eye contact she stood right in front of him, so close he could feel her breath fanning his face. He tilted his head down slightly so he could get a better look at her eyes, their proximity making it easier for him to notice that her eye's also contained a hint of blue. The next thing he knew she was kissing him, and her life flashed through his mind.
