Previously in Streets of gold:

"Reporter girl! Over here!" I heard Colin yell.

I slowly turned my head and the bartender slid me another drink. "Thanks." I mouthed to him.  I took a deep breath and stood up from my barstool.

--

Putting on a brave face I began taking careful steps towards them.

"Hi, boys."

"You went through quite the few changes, love. You look different." Finn stated.

"You couldn't change your appearance and name fast after you turned me down could you?" Logan asked harshly.

I was taken aback, "That's not true," I began, "I changed my name to Hayden because that is my dad's name and my appearance because I didn't want to be my mom's mini-me any longer."

"Why?" His expression changed in a matter of seconds.

"My mom married," I stated shortly.

"Not a nice guy?" He asked.

"Not nice doesn't even describe it," I said annoyed.

"That bad?" He chuckled.

I simply nodded. "Well it was nice seeing you guys but I am actually here with my girls so if you don't mind I am going to..." I look back over my shoulder pointing to the dancefloor with two hands.

I turned around and walked away as fast as I could. Looking over the dancefloor trying to find Paris, Lucy, and Liv. With no avail. Of course. They always do this.

I slowly stride back to where the guys were standing. "Turns out they left. Without me. Again." I huffed.

"You can join us," Colin quickly said, "I mean if that's what you want of course." He smiles at me nudging Logan in his side, who was glaring back at him.

"Only if it's okay," I said hesitantly, adverting my eyes toward Logan.

"No one you have to come home to?" He asked.

"I have a plant." I shrugged laughing. The guys started laughing too.

"Can I talk to you? Alone?"

"Of course."

Logan placed his hand on the small of my back and led us to a private, secluded area.

"You seem to know your way around here." I stated.

"It helps that Finn is the owner so we come here," he shrugged.

"Oh."

Like that we were falling back into the awkward silence. The sound of silenced music invaded my ears. My heart thumping in my chest.

I didn't know what it was, why my heartbeat was going a mile a minute, maybe it was because of the situation at hand, I was, after all, alone in a room with the one who got away.

I shook myself out of it, blocking out the music, "You wanted to talk."

"Seeing you tonight, I uhm... I realised I made a mistake walking away from you. All I want to do is make it up to you, hold you, kiss you and spend every minute and every second of every day with you-"

My eyes started to get glossy as he continued, until I cut him off, "No." My voice was raised.

"No?" He questioned, taking all the steps back that he had taken toward me.

"You don't get to do this." My voice broke.

"Get to do what, Rory?" His voice was deep, husky in some sense as he retook his steps toward me again.

"This! Say those things! I didn't say no to you back then, I said not right now! But you were too proud for your own good! You just had to give me that ultimatum didn't you?! I loved you, Logan, hell, I still do!" I screamed at him.

He trapped me, between the wall and his body, setting both arms on each side of my head on the wall. "Then why did you say no?"

I scoffed through my tears, "You are not seriously asking me that."

"I am," he replied simply.

"I wasn't ready. You knew I wasn't ready. What would you have done if it was your graduation, if the roles were reversed? You may have had a year out in the real world already, but I hadn't. I was just graduating and I needed to make my own mark in the world as Rory Hayden not Rory Huntzberger."

"Hayden? You changed your name?" He seemed surprised.

"Mom and I barely talk anymore," I said, "if you please move aside now I would love to do what I came here for tonight. To reduce some stress. Since my usual stress reliever is out of town."

Rory tried to get away however Logan didn't make an effort to move.

"Your usual stress reliever?" He questioned.

"Marc. He's quite skilled too." I smirked as I saw his jaw visibly clench and his eyes narrowing.

"So you've been whoring around New York."

"What?! You are one to talk! You think Yale's biggest player was a status you gained doing nothing! You slept with half the girls on campus!" I yelled at him.

"And then I met you," He breathed in my ear, "I wanted more."

He placed his lips on mine, kissing me. By the time I comprehended what was happening and could kiss back his lips had already left mine.

"I've always wanted something more." He whispered breathlessly.

He backed of and walked out. Leaving me alone with my thoughts to wonder what the hell just happened.
