Cassian P.O.V.
Krennic appeared in the doorway holding a blaster as Jyn and I were climbing up the tower that held all the plans for the empire. Jyn had the Death Star plans clipped to her belt. I could hear the gun fire before I reacted. My hands slipped off of the post. I tumbled down and my back hit one of the railings. I heard Jyn shout my name as I fell to the floor.

My eyes were open and I could see Krennic was still there. Please don't shoot Jyn. I thought. Then he walked away and she looked at me and then she climbed up. There was a hatch up there in the ceiling. She stood there for a moment eyeing it carefully. One false movement and she could end up like me. She prepared to jump bending her knees.

She jumped right as the hatch opened, pulling her frail body up. Once I knew she was out I closed my eyes shut. She's safe.

I heard a loud crash and my eyes opened. I was still on the floor but as I stood up I felt a throbbing pain in my side. I managed to hold myself up with the post next to me. I looked around. Everything looked the same, then I realized it came from outside. Jyn.

I limped up the staircase to where Krennic was once before. There was a staircase above him and he could see sunlight. He could hear Crennics voice say, "All you're wasting is my time."

I sauntered up the stairs slowly until I was right behind him. I pulled out my gun and realized Jyn was his target. She couldn't see me. I quickly aimed at him.

"You on the other hand will die with the rebellion." I pulled the trigger and he fell to the ground with a loud thump. Jyn looked at me with admiration. I nodded to her.

"Let's go." She told me. I let her grab around my waist and neck for my support until I realized it was for hers too. She must of got banged up from all the fighting.

We walked to the elevator and pressed the button for the last floor. As we descended down we did nothing but stare into each other's eyes. Her father gave her the right nickname, stardust. I could swear I saw little stars in those eyes of hers.

The doors opened revealing stormtroopers bodies everywhere. We began to stumble towards the waters edge. I scanned the ground. There were bodies everywhere. Of stormtroopers, resistance fighters, and worst of all some members of the Rogue One team. Jyn followed my gaze and saw them. Baze and Chirrut. They were heroes.

We collapsed to the ground in exhaustion. The laser from the Death Star was going to hit us any minute. Knowing it was our last moments I grabbed her hand. I was surprised when she squeezed back.

"Your father would've been proud of you, Jyn." I said.

She smiled and pulled me into a hug. We embraced one another scared for our death that was awaiting us. She quickly pulled me away from her as she shielded my body with hers.

"Not today." She said.

"Jyn, no-"

The rubble began to swarm over us and Jyn went out of my grip. She can't be dead.
