The Starway Pack

"Sorry?" I said to the stranger in a cloak. "What are you talking about?"

I was in Canterlot visiting my aunt, somehow, a stranger cornered me in an alley and started talking as if the sky was falling.

She sounded like an old horse. "Beware the stars that move at night, they have come for you but they will cause a fright! They have come to serve to whom has earned a crown, that pony is you so tell your friends to calm down. They come to fight the war, that is if you know, they come to battle against the foe."

She walked to the shadows leaving me transfixed to my spot. What did she mean by moving stars? How did she know of a battle? I was perplexed and stood there like an idiot, I shook my head and looked out of the alleyway.

I was standing in one of the mane highway, I walked out, everypony stopped and bowed on their spot. I was embarrassed and gave them a sign to stop.

They stood apart and I went to through them to my aunt's apartment. I knocked and my aunt came bursting through the door with an excited face.

"Starshine!" She yelled and hugged me. "I missed you so much! Come in, come in!"

I went into the crowded room and my two cousins came bouncing in. They were twins and they did everything together.

"Hi, Starshine!" They said together and they tackled me, I laughed then we wrestled. I stopped and we got up.

"We missed you! Maybe next time can you not turn into a princess?" Twisty said.

They were the color of peppermint except when one of them has a part of their body that is red and the other has white. Twisty was one and Peppy the other, I got hungry just thinking about peppermint, my stomach growled and the girls giggled.

Peppy said giggling. "Come into the kitchen. We haven't eaten lunch yet, we're having Mac 'n Cheese."

Yum, I thought. I walked into the kitchen and my nose was filled with the aroma of tasty cheese, I sat at the table and my aunt got out plates for everypony.

Twisty and Peppy got the pot of Mac 'n Cheese together. I grabbed a spoon and started scooping in into the plates. We ate at the table and talked about topics I forgot.

It felt so good to be with family. Soon, I had to leave and hugged my relatives good-bye. I made sure to hide my horn with a hat, sometimes I wanted to be a unicorn and some days a pegasus.

I slipped into the busy streets without anyone bowing at my hooves. My mind went back to that old horse I met at the street.

They have came to serve who earned the crown. Does that mean me, oh yeah, she said that pony is you.

I rolled this in my mind, eventually I went to the ticket statiom and got a ticket for Ponyville. I was still wearing the hat, so I went to the second-class seats, it was a while before I got to Ponyville.

I was thinking over and over about what the pony said, I walked out of the train station and headed for Twilight's library.

Maybe she will know, I thought.

I knocled on the door and Spike answered.

"Hey, Twilight!" He yelled behind him." Starshine is here!"

I thanked him and I walked in the cozy library. Twilight was reading a book and was surrounded by mountains of paper.

She said without looking up. "Hey, what's up? Something wrong?"

"Yes." I said. "While I was in Canterlot, an old horse cornered me in an alley and told me a weird propechy."

Twilight slammed her book and looked at me straight, she said slowly. "What did she say?"
