"dad! i'm home!"

i walked in my house, and happily took my backpack off, but my actions suddenly slowed down and froze. because my parents were there, sitting in a serious family meeting style.

then i knew that shit was about to go down.

"yoorin, we won't stay here for long."

after hearing my mother's words, i felt something tense. the words escaped her lips in a blur of mist, a short dot in the line of time. what did i just hear?

"what- what do you mean?"

"mom had found a job in japan that is more convenient for her career. and uncle han, who lives there had found a very good apartment with very good price." my father spoke slowly, as my mother eyed him. they both waited for my reaction. "her career here in korea won't help enough for our family."

"but- dad! what if she finds a new job here in korea?" trying to keep my hopes up, i asked while feeling some untangling inside my stomach.

"there are some economic reasons you won't understand. anyways, we will move to osaka." my mother's eyes darted down to the wooden tiles. "which means we have two weeks left for this."

"yoorin. i know you're very sad and disappointed, but we will stick with you, okay? also, since you know some japanese, you can easily study it when you're in japan. honey, we will always be here for you. i hope you won't feel too sad." my mother said and walked towards me for a hug. "for your mother's career. and i will find an another job there, or maybe i'll work with uncle han."
