After work, Talia found herself back at the bridge. Feeling a little agitated for some reason, she looked over the calm waters wishing some of that calm would wash off on her.
To nobody's surprise, it didn't.
So, she kicked the lamp post beside her hoping to release some anger. What was with her? Where was all of this anger coming from? She just wanted to scream, and for no apparent reason. Therefore, she did.
"ARUGH! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME?!"
She heard a small giggle behind her. It sounded male, but not deep. Not like the man's she met last time on the bridge. She whipped around.
"Are you laughing at me?" She asked sassily.
He was silent, still grinning. Then she really looked at him. It was the boy from earlier.
"Theseus!"
He seemed startled for a moment. He pointed at himself. "How did you know my name?"
"Um, you told me." She made a strange face that he must have found funny because he burst out laughing again. She was even more confused now. She sighed.
"So, what are you doing here?" She inquired. Interesting that they would meet here. He thought for a moment as if contemplating how to word his sentence.
"I'm... looking for a friend. But as I was looking, I saw you over here throwing a temper tantrum at a light pole and thought I would see what you were doing."
Well.
"Obviously, I was throwing a temper tantrum at a light pole, so you should know what I was doing."
He smiled. "Well, most people don't come here for that reason. It's usually a much worse thing, so I was curious."
She stopped at that. What does he mean "a much worse thing"? What would that mean? Before she could ask, again he stopped any words from leaving her mouth as his head shot up, his eyes training on a specific area past her head. His face turned solemn.
He breathed out a long breath. "Well, I've got to go now. Something important to do." Her brows furrowed and she followed the direction he was looking in with her eyes, seeing absolutely nothing. That had her even more confused.
His smile returned to his face, this time not reaching his eyes. "Hope I'll see you around sometime. Hopefully not this dreadful place though." And with that, he was gone, speeding down the road like he was trying to run to the other side of the country in under a minute.
That was.... strange. Guess he suddenly remembered something and had to go. Whatever it was, it gives me the creeps.
Talia shrugged and headed home, suddenly not so angry anymore. Now, she was interested.
