After splashing my face with some water, I decided it would be a better idea to go out in the waiting room and talk to Ashton later. Besides, he's kind of staying at my house for the time being. That scares me, but what scares me more is that we're alone! We are ALONE in a house! I feel very safe around Ashton, but it scares me what he will get up to.
I walk out of the bathroom, staring at the floor. I bump into a lady. She is skinny, with black hair and amberish eyes. Her name tag reads 'Amber.' No wonder. A few papers were knocked out of her hand when I bumped into her. Actually, she looks very young. She looks around 16 or 17. She looks like a volunteer, and I bet she goes to my high school. Deciding she's not the best person to ask about Jack, I help her pick up the papers, and walk to the front desk.
She walks ahead of me, and I notice Ashton talking to the lady at the front desk. "Oh Ashton! Hey." Amber beams, sounding flirty and excited to see him.
He groaned, sounding annoyed. Almost like he was telling me with his eyes. 'Oh yeah, so this another girl I hooked up with, but doesn't get the hint.' I face palmed and realized what he just said with his eyes. "Hey Amber." He replies, and I stand there stunned, not moving a muscle.
I look at the seats, and the gang has taken up half of them. Lise and Levi are of course attached to each other, pretty much never separated. Ivy and Hunter are sitting next to each other, Ivy eyeing that food he has, and I swear they're best friends. They don't have that twinkle, I love you like 'that' vibe. They are clearly in love, but in a friend way.
I interrupt everyone's train of thought, including my own, and all eyes shot up to me, including Ashton's... who was currently burning holes through the back of my neck.
"You guys don't have to stay." I manage to get out, realizing how much I really love my brother.
"You're kidding!" Ivy says, looking at me like I'm crazy. Reading her mind, I answer her.
"Yeah, really. Crash at my place. You know where the key is." I mumble.
"You're crazy." Levi interrupts. "We're here for you." He continues. I smile, and nod, finally giving in.
It's been about 45 minutes since the thing with Amber and Ashton happened. I can't help but think what really happened between them. Why should I even ask that? Clearly, she's gorgeous. Clearly, she's your common 'I've slept with the whole school' kind of girl.
Wiping away my thoughts, I focus on my brother. What's going to happen to him?
"Miss Matthews?" Some male voice spoke to me. I shot my head up, rubbing my tired eyes.
"Yes?" I asked, pleading he was okay.
"Your brother lost a lot of blood. His state is currently labeled a coma." He said, looking sorry for me.
"NOO!" I screamed, breaking down. I sat down and blocked out everyone around me. He was in a coma. I heard my name called so many times, but I just ignored it.
My vision was blurry with tears, and I freely let them fall, not ashamed anymore.
"He'll be okay." Lise said.
"At least he's not dead." Hunter commented, not helping.
"Hunter." Ashton growled, warning him. "Not helping."
"Sorry." Hunter quickly apologized.
"It's okay." I looked up and gave them all a soft smile.
"Let's leave. There's no point in staying here." I say, and everyone nods.
Ashton drove his car with of course, me sitting in shotgun. Lise, Ivy, Hunter, and Levi all in the other car. Hunter and Levi had an argument about who was going to drive, but Hunter won the battle.
