Maria’s P. O. V.:

Once I was back, I was just recovering from what I did upstairs, I jumped, yes I literally jumped on Irina’s bed. Then I remembered last night, and the moment ruined discreetly. Now I was on my way to College in Jared’s car. We went into Professor Collin’s History class, I just entered through the back door, and Jared entered through the front, to show we didn’t do this on purpose, and that we were completely oblivious to each other’s entrance.

“Miss Fernandez, stop right there.”

“Mr. Hudson, don’t even think of closing the door, come in.” I pinched myself from laughing, was he actually closing the door on Professor Collins?

“Now, Miss Fernandez, may I know why you are late today?”

I had a story already made up.

“Professor Collins, I lost my cars keys, and couldn’t find them, so I got a cab, but I was already late. I’m so sorry.” I have no idea why I lied about the cab, because I knew if I did say Jared brought me, rumors won’t need a permission to be spread.

“Okay, you can sit, as for you Mr. Hudson, your story is?”

He looked at me, probably searching for hints; I made a gun and pointed it at my head. Gladly, no one noticed. He turned back to the dustbin and spit his gum out, Professor cleared his throat, this boy really had no manners, I swear.

“Bradley, I mean Professor Collins,” He was cut by Professor.

“How In the world do you know my name? I’ve never told you.”

“Yes you have, sir, in the first week. Right Maria?”

I was blank, so I just nodded.

The class felt silent. Everyone was waiting for his explanation.

“Sir, I was threatened if I came out of my house, my uncle would be killed, but I wanted to come for your class, which is why, I came, and my uncle really has died, ask Maria.”

“How does she know?”

“She lives across my house sir, she’s my neighbor.” He said calmly. Professor scratched his beard.

“I’m sorry for your loss, Mr. Hudson.” He says.

Jared looks down and acts like he wiped a tear. I couldn’t stay put; this guy would get us busted out of class. One way or another. He sat next to me, and nudged me, that little nudge made me shiver.

Kids behind us noticed that this wasn’t actually true, and high fived Jared for his acting skills I had to say, even I couldn’t act so well.

Jared’s P. O. V.:

I had lied and why? She wouldn’t ask, it was because I couldn’t tell that I couldn’t tie my freaking laces myself, and later had to ask Maria a little, she laughed at me, and I hit her, so she seriously told me how.

Now, I needed to know why she lied. So I decided to text her. I had to hide the name I saved her number with, so i put my history book up and covered my left side, where Maria was and texted her.

To: Maria <3

Hey, why did you lie about me driving you here?

She looked at me and bit her bottom lip and went to text, from the corner of my eye, I saw the name she’s saved my number with. It was Jared <3, this sent butterflies in my stomach active like hell.

From: Maria <3

People start rumors.

To: Maria <3

what type of rumors?

Although I knew what type of rumors she was talking about, I still wanted to know it from her. I don’t know why but I did.

From: Maria <3

Rumors that you and I were going out or something.

Now that made me smile.

To: Maria <3

we don’t have to listen to them. People spread rumors, and back- stab, don’t forget I’m your friend, I’ll be with you through it. I promise you, Maria, I really do.

I don’t like attention, okay? End of discussion.

“May I know what you two are doing?” Professors voice shook me. I looked and saw him walking over.

“He- He was asking why lollipops are called that even though they don’t ‘pop’” What the hell? When did I ask that? Oh, I am so dumb. Now I understand.

“Seriously Mr. Hudson? Are you still confused about lollipops? You’re what, 18 rights? Maybe 19 or even 20, 21, all these are sitting here. Tell me what I should do about this.” He said, right after that the bell rang.

“Mr. Hudson, Miss. Fernandez, stay back.” We froze.
