Me and Cindy got up out of our chairs and went into the dining room to eat. Oh, it was delicious and it tasted exactly like my mothers recipe for her home-made stew. I knew then and there I would love as much as I loved my mother.
As soon as I was about to say something my father got up and and went to his room to grab something. He came back with a box with red-satin covering the top.
" Louisa Treamaine, will you do me the honor of having your hand in marriage?" my father said boldly.
I looked at the ring he was trying to give her. At that moment I knew where that came from. It came from my mothers hand. The exact same ring he had given my moyher was now given to to Lady Trmaine!? I was so appaled by this gesture I had to excuse myself from the table. Tears were streaming down my eyes and I just couldn't deal with my father.
Knock Knock
"Mady may I come into your room for a moment?" Lady Tremaine said.
" Yes, you may I would also like to talk to you ma'am ". I felt so shy
Lady Tremaine, came in and sat down. She looked troubled, probably because of my behavior at the table. But then I saw the ring , it flooded memories back into my brain.
~Flashback~
"Mommy, who gave you that pretty ring?" I asked when I was five.
" Your father when he asked me to marry him. " my Mother said.
" Oh, I hope one day I get married, and get the prettiest ring in all the land.!" I said excitedly.
" You will and you will. I will be there day you get married to. Always remember mom willl always be here for you ." she said quietly
I smiled.
~Flashback Over~ \
" Mady, Mady?! Are you ok sweetie? Do you need water?" she said concerned.
" Huh?! Oh , sorry for worrying you. I was daydreaming, again.
I looked at her and she had worry in her eyes. Maybe she thought I was a crazy wacko and I needed a mental doctor. I don't know, but I knew she had the look of a lost, despreate puppy. Looking for signs of love and affection.
" What is wrong, sweetie. I came in here to check on you to make sure you were ok. I saw you ran out when you saw the ring. Is this ring important to your family or you or something?" she said calmly .
" Well, if you must know it means a great deal to me. It was my mothers and i always thought that she would still be here eating dinner with us, and talking about how much she loved father." I said sheeply.
" Oh sweetie, why did you not say anything?" she questioned.
" Because father loves you very dearly. I also seemed to start to see why also. When he asked you question I was excited that you said yes. But the ring brought up memories of my mother. I needed a place I could think of her and it twas' my room." I mumbled. \
She sat there and looked at me like she wanted me to accept her and love her. But then she looked at me with the most devious smile and then she began to whisper.
"You will accept me, one day and until then you shall obey me and my rules!" she said harshly.
Lady Tremaine walked out and left me there hopeless and alone.
