A/N- This is not a complete AU story because I'm still treating it like Michael is famous along with 5 Seconds of Summer but their personalities will be different.  For example, Michael is going to be a heavy drinker and a drug user along with a few others.  Also, the band permently lives in LA but they're still Australian.

I tried to light the cigirette that was placed between my lips with shaking hands.  I finally gave up and threw it on the ground and put my lighter back in my pocket.  I stood outside my apartment, waiting for my roomate, Kayley to get home since I forgot my key.  I just wanted to get inside and lay in my bed.  I wasn't in the mood to deal with anything or anyone.  Finally, she pulled up to the curb and got out of her car.  She noticed the tear stains on my cheeks and franctically ran up the stairs.

"What's wrong?  What happened?"  She asked me.  I shook my head, not wanting to talk about it.

"Rory, you need to tell me.  I want to help."  She demanded.  I looked her straight into the eye.  I attempted to speak without tears coming out but it didn't happen.

"Sam.  He cheated."  I cried.  She took me into her arms and hugged me tight.  She unlocked the door with one hand and helped me inside.

"Did you see it?"  She asked.  I nodded my head.  The image replayed in my head.  I went to surprise him since he got off of work early.  When I walked inside to his apartment there were clothes all over the floor.  Not just his clothes, but girl's clothes as well; and they weren't mine.  I walked into his bedroom and their he was, on top of another girl.  I screamed in horror and he looked at me horrified.  Of course he tried to apologize, but I wouldn't have it.  I walked right out without saying a word.  Sam tried to follow me but I just ran faster until he knew that it would be best to give up.

"Sit on the couch, I'll get you some ice cream."  I smiled slightely at her kind gesture.  I was lucky to have a roomate who became my best friend.  Even though she's 21 and I'm 18, it feels like their isn't any age difference between us.

"Do you want to talk about it?"  She asked me as she sat the ice cream carton in front of me.

"No thank you.  I just want to be alone right now, honestly.  We can do something later though."  I smiled.  She left me alone in the living room and went to get groceries.  I sat on the couch, curled up in the corner and watched The Middle.  I tried to get a laugh but it wasn't working.  My phone continued to ring caused by Sam and I finally turned it off.  I must have sat on the couch for at least an hour and a half.

"I'm back!"  Kayley called from the doorway.  I turned around and saw her arms were covered with grocery bags.  My eyes widened and I got up quickly to help her.

"One trip or die trying, right?"  She laughed.

"Jesus, did you buy the whole store?"  I asked.

"No, I left a little on the shelf."  She joked.  I smiled and helped her put the groceries away.

"So, while I was there, I ran into Marcus."  Kayley told me.  Marcus is a friend she met her freshman year at UCLA.

"He invited us to Venice tonight for a party.  Maybe we could go, it could get your mind off of things.  He said that if we want to go he can pick us up around nine."  She said.

"I don't know, maybe.  I'll let you know by seven."  I answered.  It was 5:30 now and I was hungry.  "In the mean time, do you want to order Chinese?"  I asked.  She nodded and picked up the phone.  We've called for Chinese delivery so many times before that we know eachother's orders by heart.

"I'm going to go shower."  I told her once she got off of the phone.

"Be quick, or I'll eat your dinner!"  She threatened.

"I'll be quick!"  I laughed and headed into my bathroom.
