[Yuto/Yuuto/Ute x F! Shy Reader] Just Friends

LAAAATE! (Y/N)'s mind yelled. Why did I have to wake up so late? She sprinted through the bustling streets of Paradise City. Blindly running, her mind chastised her for being so ignorant. Late on the first day of school! LATE!

Elbowing her way through a crowd, she finally broke free and started a free-for-all towards the new school. Just as she stepped into the field that surrounded it, the school bell rung.

Phew. Not late then. Sighing with relief she made her way to the entrance, where many students were gathering. So this is my new school, huh? I hope I'm not the odd one out in every class... Maybe there's another new student I can make friends with... Maybe if I talk to some of the students familiar to the school I can make friends with them? Looking around for a person to talk to, (Y/N) forgot to look where she was going and bumped into somebody, falling to the ground.

"Oh sorry! Are you okay?" the new kid held out his hand to (Y/N). (Y/N) took a glance up at his black hair and violet bangs, matching his concerned silvery-gray eyes.

"Sorry," she murmured, blushing. "Thanks," she said, louder, taking his hand.

"No problem. So you're new here, too?" the purple-and-black haired boy asked, kindly. (Y/N) nodded.

"Yeah," she answered nervously, voice soft as the slight breeze outside. I'm not shy. I'm not shy, I'm brave... she told herself. Taking a deep a breath, she imagined herself as an adventurer, meeting a lion. She was brave, she could take it on. She knew.

"I'm Yuto. What's your name?" the male asked.

"Huh?" she realized, way too loud. "Sorry. I wasn't paying attention... I'm (Y/N)," (Y/N) answered.

"(Y/N)s a pretty name," Yuto told her. (Y/N) couldn't help but give a shy smile. I'm a safari person. I've been in worse situations...

"Thanks," was all (Y/N) could muster. Before Yuto could reply, the second bell rung throughout the school court, making (Y/N) jump.

"That was just the first bell," Yuto told her, smiling ever-so-slightly.

"I know. I mean, I didn't know that before you told me. Wait, I'm pretty sure a few weeks ago my mom mentioned something about three bells... eh, who cares?" (Y/N) felt herself grow bolder by the second, she could let herself shine in front of Yuto since he was nicer than others.

Yuto smiled at (Y/N). Their eyes met each others and lingered there for while. Suddenly, the last bell rung and a surge of students clogged up the entrance, shoving (Y/N) and Yuto into the school. (Y/N) noticed that she was still holding Yuto's hand. Blushing, she slipped her hand away from his but, thankfully, Yuto didn't notice.

"What homeroom do you have?" Yuto asked (Y/N).

"214. Yours?" (Y/N) answered.

"Same. So we're classmates, huh?" Yuto replied. (Y/N) nodded, happily as the duo walked to their classroom.

A few weeks had passed since the first day of school. (Y/N) just about memorized the school's layout and grew close to Yuto.

"Hey, (Y/N)!" A voice called from the lush green field outside the school.

"Hello, Yuya," greeted (Y/N), "Where's Yuto?"

"Always looking for your boyfriend, huh?" Yuya joked. (Y/N) flushed bright red.

"Right. So where's your girlfriend?" (Y/N) countered, making Yuya blush.

"Okay. Fine. Yuto's somewhere in that crowd." Yuya pointed towards the bustling students clustered around the entrance of the school. (Y/N) made her way to the double doors.

"Hello, (Y/N)," a voice said from behind (Y/N), startling her.

"Hey," (Y/N) turned towards Yuto.

"Are you going... anywhere after school?" Yuto asked her, nervously. (Y/N) blinked.

"No. Why?" (Y/N) asked, curiously.

"Well," Yuto fidgeted with his punk-like outfit, "do you want to hang out after school?" His cheeks flushed red, making (Y/N) blush, as well.

Turning her head away, (Y/N) answered. "Okay." Yuto looked relieved that she accepted.

(Y/N) and Yuto entered the school.

"Where are we going?" (Y/N) asked.

"You'll see," Yuto winked at her. (Y/N) sniffed but tagged along with Yuto in the lead. "Here," Yuto gestured to a park where birds chirped mindlessly.

"It's so peaceful here," (Y/N) murmured.

Yuto nodded. "That's why I brought you here." He laced his fingers through hers. (Y/N) blushed, but Yuto took no notice and he walked onto the pathway. They trekked for a long time, enjoying each other's presence.

"Hey Yuto?"

"Hmm?"

"Where are we going? It's getting late," (Y/N) glanced up at the darkening sky. Yuto smiled.

"We're getting close" was his only answer, making (Y/N) grow impatient. Finally, Yuto and (Y/N) stepped onto a small cliff with a stunning view of the ocean and the setting sun.

"Yuto?" (Y/N) asked, breathlessly.

"Yes?" he asked, pulling her close to him. She nuzzled his chest, enjoying his warmth.

"Thank you," (Y/N) whispered.

"There's no need." A pause. "I love you (Y/N)."

"And I you."

Yuto placed a passionate kiss on (Y/N)'s lips as the last sliver of sunlight disappeared.
