"Hurry up Rio," Shark snapped impatiently into his sister's room.

"Just a second, Reginald," she replied, scuttling around.

Shark sighed. Rio had woken him up this morning with an excited glint in her eyes, continuously chatting about the plans she'd made with his so called 'friends' to meet at the carnival for the upcoming festival. It had then taken the rest of the morning, along with breakfast over waffles and bacon to convince Shark to join her.

Now that he was prepared, Rio was still combing her hair, and draining Shark of his patience in one. Sometimes he found it difficult to understand his own sister.

"Are you done yet? If you can't finish in five minutes, we'll be late," Shark called, leaning further against her outer wall.

"Five minutes?! I'm just about done," said Rio hurriedly. Shark tapped his foot; in a moment's time, Rio darted out of the room, brushing a few strands of icy blue hair with her brush nervously. They played contrast against the sun's vibrant rays slipping inside.

"How do I look?" she asked.

"You look fine. Does it matter?" Shark rolled his eyes. "Let's go already".

Rio glanced at the clock hanging on the wall. Her mouth curved into a frown. "Reginald... we still have an extra half an hour..."

Shark smirked. "Oh yeah, I must've miscounted," he said smugly. "It still worked, didn't it?" Rio shot him a dirty look.

"I'm going to finish combing my hair," she huffed indignantly, and started marching back into her room.

"I said you looked fine! What's the difference between combing your hair and not?"

Rio stopped in her fury, and thought for a moment. She seemed stuck on the question. Shark kept glaring at her. Then, Rio reverted to the technique Shark knew only too well.

"Well, what's with you and wanting to leave early?" she switched the topic with a deep hint of mischief. "Are you happy to meet a special someone today?"

For once, Shark had the slightest problem speaking to her question, but forced the cool words anyway.

"Of course not," he scoffed.

"Reginald," drawled Rio with a new smirk. "I know you like (Y/N)".

"We're just friends," Shark narrowed his eyes, letting the last word stand bold.

Rio stood straighter with a surprise. "Hey, no need to get defensive over your girlfriend".

"Whatever. Why don't you finish brushing your hair? You have at most 27 minutes now. Oh, and I'm not joking this time". At this, Rio gave Shark another glare, and returned to her room.

The door slammed shut, and all quieted.

Now Shark had the world's time to wait, and stare into the borders around him. He pondered over the three words, and yet with the clear daylight seeping through the curtains, his thoughts were hazy about one thing. Or yet, a particular person. (Y/N) (L/N).
