Life is like a guy being chased by a bunch of mutant squirrels.
-Running, running down a very long street, defenseless against the creatures who want
to eat you whole.-
-The mutant squirrels resemble your insecurities and personal imperfections.-
-The guy simply resembles you, the you that you wish to be but can never be-
-but, in this case, its literal-
Giving chase, Tom ran through the littered streets while a pack of mutant squirrels were
hot of his tail.
(lol get it bc their squirrels? Jk I'll go die in my hole-)
For some clarification as of the last chapter: Tom took a wrong turn in an attempt to get to his old home but instead ran into a pack of snarling mutant squirrels when he turned a corner.
"FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!" he yelled, not daring to look behind him. His legs were tired, he was out of breath, everything ached but Tom kept running. Of all the times for his legs to give up, now was certainly not the time for it to happen!
He turned corners and alleyways no matter where he ran these fuckers wouldn't leave
Think quick! Think quick Tom!?!? He thought. Aha! Tom dashes into an empty police box and pulled it close. Huddling into a ball so they wouldn't see him...
(GET YOUR FEZ AND START THE THEME SONG BITCH-)
Holy shit it worked! They ran right past him. After a while he looked out, "Thank fuck" he said with an exhausted sigh and booked it down the street in the opposite direction. Things weren't as destroyed the further away you got from the city, Tom passed a street that he would know anywhere.
The sign was still there, although ripped out of the ground it didn't look too bad in shape. it read:"Cul-de-sac Street".
Tom sighed in relief, "Home..." this was seriously tugging at his heartstrings the memories of his home, HIS home, the memories flooding back to him.
It felt good but at the same time painful?
Why would a war and three years make him forget the memories that were so important to him?
///////// time skip brought to you in part by I need to fucking update this shit ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ ///////////
As I'm walking down my old street, I can see the damage inflicted on everything, the big tree swing in the park was gone-
Aaaaannd so was the tree- bummer
Some of the houses had been completely destroyed, Some cars were still in their driveways? Eh, doesn't matter, if you didn't die from the bombs you definitely died from the after effects, radiation is a bitch.
Most if not all of the greenery has been burned and destroyed, some tipped over cars, the occasional dead body but no zombies for some reason?
Their probably found closer to actual radiation exposed zones- like where the bombs fell in the inner city-
"I can't believe I ever took this place for granted..." I sighed and focused ahead, instantly stopping in my tracks upon looking at a big pile of rubble, this was my neighbors' house: Eduardo, Mark, and Jon...
I think there was another person there but I never really knew with those guys.
It's sad what happened to Jon, he was probably the most likable out of all of them in my opinion, anyways the other two moved shortly after the incident, a few months before everything went to shit...
