"it's spring, not because
flowers are blooming, but
because you are here."

- unknown.

(SPRING)

"chaeyoung, you should always be thankful for what you have"

mrs. park would always exclaim to chaeyoung whilst brushing her chocolate hair. chaeyoung would look at her mother in confusion, but now she understands what she meant.

be thankful that you have something by your side, appreciate it before it's too late.

too late.

"i'm sorry mom, i'm not thankful," she says whilst picking up tears on her eyes, her heart shattering with her own world. she stares at the tombstone where her mother's name is sculpted with the saying,

you will always be loved and remembered

remembering is one of the most beautiful thing that remains here in this world. but sometimes it hurts everytime. when you look at the sofa, or the photo albums, the bed they laid, the memories.

memories that faded into blue.

people are so naive when it comes to appreciating. and chaeyoung is one of those people.

and now she feels as if she lost everything.

and that she will never be fix again,

or so she thought.

"i wish i never got to see," chaeyoung pauses as the sobs rumble on her throat, "your future."

her eyes are melting with her heart, she remembers how she begged for her mother to stay that night.

but she just wouldn't listen.

if only she could turn back time, she will beg for her mother to stay.

but she can't.

"i'm all alone now" the girl whispers on the cruel wind wafting on her tear-stained cheek. she hugs herself as she closes her eyes to hum a little lullaby, trying to convince herself that she's going to be okay.

broken promises and unsaid thoughts are prickling on her narrow brain. the pain inside her heart are tumbling, hammering, and eating her.

"i feel so alone." she mumbles. not even her father showed up on her mom's funeral last month.

what a repulsive man. she thought. chaeyoung never had any father figure, and she takes it as a blessing because her father is nothing but a classy guy who doesn't care about the fact that he has a child.

why is life so unfair? and so fucking hard?

do angels exist? does god exist? if he does, chaeyoung hopes that he knows that she's hurting. badly.

she's bruised. broken. and faded.

after some long period of time, chaeyoung decided to go back to her place or maybe to enjoy some coffee. she wipes her tears, standing on her feet, she looks around the cemetery and she realizes that she's not the only one there. chaeyoung turns around to see a boy and a girl looking at her.
