06 : DYING

(DYING)

they both watched the pale moonlight, they are walking. heading home.

once they reach their destination (which is the streets where they'll seperate ways) chaeyoung looks up at him.

her eyes widen and soften as she sees that jungkook's crying.

she tries to laugh it out by lightly slapping his arms. "yah! why the hell are you crying?" but, it hurts seeing him this way.

but she has to be strong. she has to be.

he hugs her again, his throat forming a lump and he couldn't breathe.

"i-i'll just miss you." he sobs and chaeyoung's heart crashes. "i'll miss you so much," jungkook holds her tighter.

"don't worry jungkook," she pats the boy's back,

"we'll see each other soon."

something inside those words make chaeyoung feel sad and vulnerable.

she feels the boy slowly crashing and breaking.

and the worst part of it is that,

he's crying.

they both broke the hug.

they just stare, just stare.

"you know what chae?" she hums in response as she looks deeply in his eyes.

"you're the best thing that ever happened to me."

"just know that i will never forget about you." jungkook tries to hold her again, but he knows if he does, he'll break into pieces again. "wherever i may be, my heart will always find a way to be with you again."

jungkook's heart beats fast as the blinding lights of the traffic lights shine at him.

"thank you so much jeon jungkook, thank you so much." chaeyoung cries, the tears in her eyes keep on flowing.

before saying good bye, she feels jungkook placing a paper in her hand. "w-what's this?"

"something."

"good bye." jungkook mutters as he waves his farewell.

"good bye jeon jungkook," she smiles, "until we meet again."

jungkook walks as chaeyoung watches from afar. her heart is melting with every step he takes. her heart colliding with the ground, pounding. she looks at the piece of paper and something strikes inside of her.

"for chaeyoung."

"chae! where are you going?" he sobs holding onto the girl, "i need to move kookie, don't worry we'll see each other again i promise!" she pinky promised. "will we go to the cherry bossoms?" chaeyoung giggles at his error "yes sure!" she kisses his cheeks "write a letter for me okay? i'll miss you." she looked at the boy waving good bye. "bye kookie! until we meet again!"

chaeyoung gasps, looking at jungkook who's crossing the street.

"K-KOOKIE!" she screams with her heart crying. he turns around, smiling at chaeyoung. his mouth mumbles something but chaeyoung knows what it is.

"you remembered." chaeyoung nods her head, jungkook smiles at her, "you remembered me." the tears in his eyes water out, "thank you for remembering me!" he yells, wiping his tears.

chaeyoung's about to call him when a sudden thought hits her like a truck.

"JUNGKOOK GO-" she stops, it happens too fast. a sudden screech. car crashing. some people screaming. and her heart. that's all chaeyoung could hear.

"j-jungkook." she mumbles.

and suddenly, what she sees in jungkook's eyes happen in front of her.

car crash, girl mumbling, sirens, and tears.

a car suddenly paves jungkook away, it's like a slow motion thing.

"JUNGKOOK!" chaeyoung yells, she starts to run, ignoring all the people's gasps.

her knees melted down when he saw the blood on jungkook's body. chaeyoung fell down to the ground, covering her mouth, "j-jungkook?" she calls again. the said boy tries to open his eyes and smile, "c-chaeyoung." he breathes out.

chaeyoung uncovers her face, "call an ambulance!" she yells, looking at every people around her. chaeyoung desperately tugs on a woman's t-shirt, begging for her to call the ambulance.

"chae, it's okay." jungkook says and groans in pain. chaeyoung looks at him, "kookie." she sits down on the ground, cradling his body, placing his head on her lap.

"it's going to be okay, just hang on, they're calling the ambulance." she wipes her tears away but they keep on falling.

"i-it's okay," jungkook reaches out for her face, trying to wipe her tears away, but he's too weak to do that.

"no no no." chaeyoung sobs, "call a fucking ambulance! hurry up!" she frustratingly shouts.

she looms at jungkook, blood decorating his body. "jungkook hang in there okay?" she gulps the lump on her throat. "you'll be okay." she nods her head, as if like assuring herself.

jungkook meets her gaze. "chae," his weak voice whispers. chaeyoung looks at him.

"i always knew this would happen." tears leave on his eyes, as he speaks out the words. "but i didn't know it'll hurt this much." he sobs.

chaeyoung hugs his fragile body, feeling his heartbeat slowly drifting. "jungkook, don't give up please." she cries and begs.

"of course i won't but i need to" he whines in pain.

"remember when you told me we'll live on a dollhouse?" she nods her head as she bites her lips to prevent more sobs, "i guess i have to go first"

chaeyoung screams a 'no' but it's no use. jungkook smiles at her, "good bye." jungkook sighs as tears fall down his face, he slowly reach out to touch her's. chaeyoung sobs even more, "i love you."

and with that, jungkook slips away. and drifts. and dies in chaeyoung's arms.
