Chapter 14: Saving my Mate

Gajeel's POV:
As I made my way towards the old shrine of Mt. Hishaku I started to hear Shrimp's screams and I was getting pissed off that the serial killer is hurting my mate. Even more, so that I could smell more of Shrimp's blood being spilled and I was not sure if I would be able to stay in control long enough to save Levy. But, if I do lose control the one thing on my mind would be to save Levy and I would do whatever it takes to save her. I continued running towards the shrine and once I was in the building I started following Shrimp's scent to where she was being held. Then I heard her voice, "P-please, s-stop." she said her voice with pain and weakness in it I could tell that she needed to get to a hospital before she loses any more blood than she already did. "And, why would I do that my dear? No one even knows about this old shrine. In fact, nobody ever comes here anymore. Which makes it the perfect place to kill people and take away their innocence as well." said the guy who was with her and when I heard those words of taking away women's innocence I growled and ran towards the room that they are in and broke down the door. "GET AWAY FROM HER!" I shouted as I used my magic to destroy the lights before the killer could see me. "G-Gajeel..." Shrimp said and when I saw all the cuts and bruises on her my anger skyrocketed, "YOU'RE GOING TO DIE!" I shouted and I lunged forward and lashed out at the guy with my claws he managed to dodge me but not enough to get claw marks on his left arm and his blood started dripping down his hand and from my claws. "What the hell! What are you?" he asked, "The guy who's going to kill you and tear you apart limb from limb." I snarled and he started running away.

Levy's POV:
Just before I lost consciousness I heard Gajeel's voice, "GET AWAY FROM HER!" he shouted and I saw that he used his magic to destroy the lights so that this guy wouldn't see him in his werewolf form, but something was different this time Gajeel seemed to have much more anger coming out of him and I think it's because that this asshole has beaten me up and cut me so many times and threatened to rape me. Once the serial killer ran away Gajeel looked at me and I saw that his ruby red eyes had changed from a steady glowing ruby red color to a more blood red firey glow. "G-Gajeel, y-your eyes..." I started but then he broke the rope that was keeping me tied up and I fell into his arms, "Don't try to speak, Shrimp. You lost a lot of blood already. The military will be here soon, they'll get you to a hospital." he said, I could tell he was holding back tears as his breathing became erratic and before I could say anything he changed back into his normal form and his tears started rolling down his face. "I won't let him get away from me, and he will regret ever doing this to you, Levy." said Gajeel, I was surprised that he used my name but I didn't care, on the other hand, I couldn't really feel my arms or my legs. "G-Gajeel, I c-can't feel my arms and legs." I said softly, "You're going into shock. The military won't get here in time. I'll have to get you to the hospital myself. And fast." said Gajeel as he carefully lifted me up and held me close to him so that I wouldn't fall out of his arms. Then, he started running with inhuman speed and we managed to get to the hospital. "Someone help her! She needs help!" screamed Gajeel and several doctors and nurses came running with a gurney and Gajeel laid me on it and I was rushed to the E.R. After that I blacked out completely.

Time Skip
Gajeel's POV:
When the doctors took Levy into the E.R. I was left at the entrance of the hospital because I was too scared to see Levy in the condition she's in. "Mr. BlackWolf, Ms. McGardner is out of surgery now. The doctors had to put her into a medically induced coma, unfortunately. And due to the massive amount of blood loss she has suffered, there is only a forty percent chance that she'll live." said the nurse who took me to Shrimp's room and when she left I opened the door and I saw Shrimp hooked up to several machines keeping her alive. I sat down in the chair next to the bed that she was in, "I'm sorry I wasn't able to get there in time Shrimp. Please, don't leave me. I swear to you, I'm going to find that son of a bitch and tear him apart for what he did to you." I said softly as I took Shrimp's hand into mine and as I looked at her I started to feel like I have lost a piece of myself. "I'll come back for you, Shrimp. I promise." I said and I kissed her head and left the room and left the hospital. Once I was far enough away from the town I started running towards the shrine at the top of Mt. Hishaku so that I could find the son of a bitch who almost killed my mate. Once I got to the shrine I found the blood trail that smelled like the son of a bitch who had my mate on death row. "You can run, but you can't hide." I said and I followed the trail to where the serial killer is hiding and I made sure that no one was around so that I could finish the job. Once I made sure that there wasn't anyone around I changed into my werewolf form and ran into the building and followed the asshole's scent to where he was hiding. "I know you're here asshole. You can't hide from me, I can smell your blood." I said and let out a snarl and walked over to the last door on the right. "So, you're a werewolf slayer. Got to admit, I wasn't expecting that. So, which one are you, Salamander, Sky Maiden, Lightning Werewolf, Divine, Shadow?" he asked, "I'm Black Steel Gajeel, the Iron Werewolf Slayer." I said and I tore the door away and when the serial killer saw me his face went from excitement to sheer terror. "What the hell? What are you?" he asked, "I'm your worst nightmare you piece of shit." I said and I lunged forward at the bastard and he shot me with some magic bullets but that just pissed me off even more than I already was. "You shouldn't have messed with my mate. Now, you will pay for it with your life!" I shouted and bore my fangs and as he shot me I sunk my fangs into his arm and ripped it out of its socket with a sickening pop and I released the arm from my mouth and it dropped to the floor. "You bastard, I'll kill you. Then, I'll finish what I started with that bluenette and finish the job." he said as he held his now bleeding armless socket. "You won't get the chance. IRON WEREWOLF SWORD!" I yelled and my left arm turned into a sword then I swung my sword arm and severed the asshole's head from his body and his head rolled on the ground while his body fell onto the floor with a loud thud. "That's for messing with my mate you asshole." I said as I changed back into my human form and I walked out of the building and went to find a place so I could wash off the blood. Once I found a waterfall I quickly jumped in the water and all the blood was washed off of my clothes and my hair. "Well, at least I won't have any blood on me when I go to the hospital." I said to myself as I got out of the water and started running back to the hospital.

Levy's POV:
Gajeel, I know you will find that asshole and make sure he doesn't kill anyone else ever again. That was one of my thoughts as I was thinking about what Gajeel would do when he finds the serial killer. Then, everything started getting bright as I opened my eyes and found myself in a hospital room and I was very weak and I was having trouble moving my head. "Doctor, she's awake." said a nurse as she came in and saw me waking up, "Alright, Ms. McGardner you're going to be alright. You have been in a coma for a whole day and your boyfriend was the one who brought you in." said the doctor as he took the oxygen machine out of my nose and once I breathed in real oxygen I felt a little bit better. Then the door to my room opened and I saw Gajeel walk in, "Levy, your awake." he said with a smile on his face, "Hi, Gajeel." I said and my voice was hoarse so I was having trouble talking, "I'll have a nurse bring up some food and water for you Ms.McGardner." said the doctor as he left the room and Gajeel sat in the chair next to my bed, "I'm glad your alright, Shrimp." said Gajeel. I could tell that he was holding back his tears and I would have told him that he didn't always have to keep his emotions hidden except my voice was hoarse so I just smiled at him and I guess he knew what I was thinking because tears started rolling down his face and he hugged me gently. I hugged him back and I knew that he was scared while I was in my coma so I guess that things would be better once I was discharged from the hospital. "I love you Shrimp." said Gajeel, and I smiled and managed to quietly say "I love you too, Gajeel." and we looked at each other and smiled. I guess that what some romance novels say is true, even in the worst situations love can always brighten up the room.
