Prologue

    I am writing this because the leader of the Conformists has just announced on a live broadcast that at the beginning of the new year; There will be new actions taken towards the ones who oppress the Government. Who don't wear the approved clothes. Who don't work at approved jobs. Who break every ridiculous law now in place. You get the idea. I am going to start writing this journal to officially document me and my friends experiences. In case this is recovered by someone in a time where hopefully everything is better, but the Governments covered it up, out of shame, I will explain how we got here. In late 2023, America had its first dictatorship-like Government. Dictator Caligari infultrated and overthrew the Government and took over. But I don't want to get into politics. Anyway, as dictator he decided everyone has to wear these Government-issued uniforms - that are all identical. Everyone has to work basic jobs. Music is outlawed. Movies, television, video games, any form of entertainment - outlawed. He claims that all of it has corrupted our society. That everyone was too at ease. It made us soft. He wants a country of soldiers. Colorless, emotionless, soldiers. So, they force the public to take this medication that takes away any and all emotion. It takes away their individuality, their creativity, and ultimately their freedom. it takes over their mind basically. They obey everything they're told to do by the authorities with seemingly no opinion of their own. Of course he had his followers, or people too weak to say no. But with them, there were also people like my group and I. Now looked at as the scum of society; to be fair, we sort of were seen that way before all this happened anyway. The kids with the fucked up hair, tattoos, piercings, no one really understood us anyway. But any hate people had for us before was now more amplified and exploited than ever; thanks to dictator Caligari's orders. Anyway, in mid-2024 Caligari realized too many people weren't obeying. So, he had his troops find any rebels and take them to a detention center by force and its not known by the public exactly what happens there; but anyone who goes in, always has come out a Conformist. That hunt is still going on today and it will only get harsher. My group and I have been on the run this entire time, now we have to train even more and keep running. We always have to keep running. You can never let go of what you believe in. Always keep fighting.
