"Oh, great! Here we go again!," complained Jessie as the trio flew through the air.
"Look on the bright side, Jess. At least we have a nice view of this lovely forest and that river." said James positively.
"A forest and river that we gettin pretty close to!" yelled Meowth. The trio started falling towards the Earth. Everyone screamed as their bodies were being propelled to the ground.
"This is gonna hurt!" they all shouted at once.
BAM! CRASH! THUD! James and Meowth landed onto a branch and then it snapped and they tumbled to the ground. They groaned and rubbed their rear ends.
"Man, I hate dat twerp's Charizard!" said Meowth angrily as he stood up and shook dirt off himself.
"Make that double." said James and he stood up as well. "Maybe we should look into getting a fire-proof net, right Jessie?"
James and Meowth waited for a reply from their fiery red headed companion, but there wasn't one.
"Where did Jessie go?" asked James, scratching his head.
"Beats me." answered Meowth. He and James peered around their surroundings to find her, but there wasn't any sign of her.
"Meowth, you don't think she got separated from us, do you?" asked James with concern in his voice.
"Well she's not around here so what do youse tink?" replied Meowth sarcastically. "We should probably go and find her."
"Yeah you're right." said James.
Just seconds after this was said, they heard strange noises coming from the river. It kind of sounding like gargling and cries.
"James, do youse hear dat?" asked Meowth.
"Yes, I do. I wonder what it is."
"We should go check it out." said Meowth and ran towards the river.
"Right behind you!" called out James.
The two jogged alongside the riverbank for a few moments when they saw something that made their blood run cold. Long magenta colored hair was moving around in the water.
"Jessie!" shouted James and Meowth in unison. They broke into a run and caught up to Jessie.
"Jessie! Can you hear us?" called out James.
Jessie barely had the strength to lift her head up, but she managed to do it.
"Yes," she panted. "Please help me!"
With a sudden burst of heroism, James dove into the water and swam after Jessie.
"I'll go and get help!" yelled Meowth, and he dashed off into the forest.

Meowth had been running for a few minutes now, hoping to find someone to help him, when he spotted Ash and his friends. They had set up camp in a meadow and were relaxing in the afternoon sun. Meowth ran over to them.
"Hey twerps, as much as I hate to say dis, but I need your help!"
Ash, Misty, Brock, and even Pikachu stared at the cat Pokémon blankly.
"Why should we help you? You only cause us trouble." sneered Ash.
"Yeah, all you want to do is steal Ash's Pikachu." said Misty.
Pikachu nodded its head in agreement.
"I know, I know. But dis is serious! Jessie and James are in trouble and they need help! All because of you twerps, Jessie fell into a river and now she can't get ta shore! James went in after her, but I don't know if they'll make it because da current is very strong."
"Wait a second," said Brock. "Isn't there a river near here that has a waterfall?"
"A waterfall?!" yelled Meowth. "Why didn't anyone tell me dis earlier?! Now youse gotta help me!"
"I have a small raft in my bag." said Brock. "If we can't get them to shore and they go over the waterfall, they'll fall on my raft."
"Dat's a good idea, now let's move it. We don't have all day ya know!" said Meowth.
"They better pay us back after this." grumbled Misty.

Water splashed on James's face. Even though he was getting closer and closer to Jessie, the current was pulling her farther and farther away.
"Hang on, Jess!" shouted James. "I'm almost there."
He swam even faster to catch up with her. Suddenly, James saw a large rock up ahead, and Jessie was heading straight for it.
"Jessie!" James yelled over the current. "Watch out for that rock!"
But it was too late. Jessie's head knocked up against the rock and she became unconscious.
"No!" screamed James. He swam faster than he ever had in his life.
If I ever lost Jessie, James thought to himself, I don't know what I would do with myself.
Then, he heard a terrifying noise. The sound of loud rushing water was coming up ahead of him.
Please don't tell me it's a waterfall, James thought again.
As he got closer, he saw what it was.
Yep, it's a waterfall.
With one enormous stroke, he had caught up to Jessie. He grabbed her foot and pulled her to him.
"Don't worry, Jess." he whispered in her ear. "I'll protect you."
As they were getting closer and closer to the waterfall, James knew it was no use. He barely could make it to shore on his own but he definitely wouldn't be able to do it while he was holding Jessie.
Well, at least I'll die protecting someone... who's very special to me, thought James. Maybe we can meet up in the afterlife...
James closed his eyes and braced himself for death. He could hear the waterfall approaching him and Jessie.
Then, he went over.
