"These berries are delicious, Meowth. Thank you for getting them." said James, munching on a Pecha Berry.
"Yeah well, youse lazy logs weren't gonna do it." replied Meowth, a little annoyed.
Jessie held an Aspear Berry, thinking of how the little rings looked like James's handsome green eyes...
"Hey Jess, why aren't you eating?" asked James.
Jessie jumped and shook her head of her thoughts. "Oh, I'm sorry. I'm not very hungry right now. I'll eat later." Jessie stood up and walked over to a nearby creek and sat down, staring at the water.
"What's up wit her?" said Meowth. James shrugged his shoulders.
"I have no idea. Should I talk to her?" asked James.
Meowth chuckled. "Do youse want ta get beaten up again?"
"I'll just speak with her for a moment." said James and he walked over to Jessie with a berry in his hand.
He sat down beside her and sighed. "Beautiful sunset, isn't it?" said James, trying his best to make small talk.
Jessie nodded her head and continued to stare at the water.
Why isn't she talking? Normally we can never get her to shut up.
"So, seen any good movies lately?"
"James, what is it?" huffed Jessie. "If there's something you want to say, just say it."
James gulped. Maybe I should've stayed with Meowth.
"I just want to know why you're so quiet right now. You're always talking to us and it feels a little weird when you're all quiet." said James.
   Jessie sighed. "It's just... I don't know..."
"Jessie" said James, grabbing her hand. Jessie blushed a little and so did James. "I want to know what's up with you. You can tell me anything, you know that, right?"
Jessie nodded. "If you really must know the truth, James, then..."
"Team Rocket!" someone yelled over by the balloon. "Get your own campsite!"
"We was here first twerps so get lost!" bickered Meowth.
James stood up and jogged over to Meowth, with Jessie on his heels.
"What is going on here?" shouted James.
"What's going on here is that we want to set up camp here!" hollered Misty.
"Meowth is right, we were here first, so leave right now!" yelled James.
"Maybe we should settle this over a Pokemon battle." said Ash. Pikachu nodded its head and it's cheeks started to spark with electricity.
"Okay then, if it's a battle you want, then it's a battle you'll get." said James, reaching for his Pokeball.
Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder.
"James, is it really worth it right now?" said Jessie. "We don't even have a plan."
James couldn't believe what he was hearing. Jessie turning down a battle against the twerps? This can't be right.
"But Jessie, we were here first. We can't just give up our campsite."
"But we had important things to discuss, didn't we?" said Jessie, stepping closer to James. He could feel heat rising up in his face.
"R-right." stuttered James. "We did have important things to discuss."
Meowth shook his head, totally weirded out by what he was seeing. He looked at the twerps, who were just as confused as he was.
"So, are we battling or not?" interrupted Ash.
"Forget it guys, they aren't leaving. We'll just find somewhere else to stay tonight." said Brock. And Ash and his friends left the clearing.
"What in da world was dat abou-" yelled Meowth but stopped short when he saw Jessie and James. They were in a tight embrace, and were very quiet.
Meowth shrugged his shoulders and sat back down by the balloon. They stopped hugging and held hands as they walked back over the creek.
Meowth chuckled to himself and got a berry. One day at a time, he thought.
