Zach woke up crying.
I didn't know why.
He wouldn't tell me.
He said he had a nightmare but, I knew.
I knew it wasn't a nightmare.
It was more than just a monster under his bed.

I wiped a tear that was gently sliding down his face.
Who knew someone could look so angelic while they cry.
"Baby," I begged, "Please tell me why."

"It's nothing. I promise."

"Zach, that's bullshit and we both know it. Please tell me, I'm your husband and I want to take care of you."

"Fine, you really want to know? What that nurse said yesterday affected me. It hurts Jack. It hurts to know that no matter how hard I try I will always be a disgusting pig in somebody's eyes."

"Are you a disgusting pig in your eyes?"

"Why does that matter?"

"Ah ah ah, answer the question."

"Maybe, sometimes."

"You're not a disgusting pig in my eyes. Or your family's. Or Chrissy's. Or the other boys. Or all of our families. What about Matthew and Brandon? They don't think you're a disgusting pig. So if they don't, the people who love you most, why should you?"

"I guess you're right."

"I'm only trying to prove that you, my precious husband, are perfect. No matter what some judgemental nurse says. You are perfect! Never forget that."

He attacked me in a hug and kept repeating that he loves me.
There's the happy zachy.
Mission accomplished.

I giggled, "I love you too. Now c'mon the boys and Christina are probably freaking out wondering if you're okay."

"Okay, thank you, by the way."

"Don't thank me. I'm only telling you what's the truth."

"No. Not thank you for that. Thank you for loving me and making me feel wanted."

"Anything for you, my dear." I grabbed his hand and dragged him down the stairs.

"ZACH YOU LITTLE BITCH ARE YOU OKAY?" Christina came and punched his shoulder.

"Ow, yes. But take it easy. I'm still kind of fragile." He chuckled pulling her into a hug.

"Oh but yet jack was aloud to destroy your hole last night." She stuck her tongue out and ran to Corbyn's lap.

I looked at Zach.
His cheeks were the shade of a tomato.
Awwww.

"Christina!" He hissed, "shut up!"

"Sucker." She laughed and hid in the bathroom, considering Zach was chasing her with a knife.

I plopped my ass on the couch and got lost in thought.
The same thing I always think about.
How I was blessed to have that angel.
That angel named Zach.
In my life.

I was brought out of my thoughts by Zach.

"What are you thinking about?" He asked sitting on my lap cuddling his head into my shoulder.

"How I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

I connected our lips.
Our future passed through my vision.
Me, Zach, two children.
Me and Zach sitting on the porch, sipping coffee.
Watching while our kids play in the morning dew.
That's the life.
That's my future.
And I'm willing to spend it with Zach.
