All These Years....

No ones POV
   Daniel stared at Emma in total disbelief. She was here. Standing right in front of him. As beautiful as ever.

   His mouth hung open but no words escaped. It was like he was in a trance. And so was Emma.

   But Emma shuddered as past memories came back and a scowl landed on her face.

   She lunged at Daniel, repeatedly punching him in the chest, tears running down her face at every punch and slap to his chest.

   Daniel didn't do anything to stop her. Instead he wrapped his hands around her and held her close. Eventually her punches and slaps came to a stop as the tears and sobs left her body.

   "Why! Why did you do that! Why did you do that!" Her tears and cries muffled by Daniels chest.

    He took a deep breath, releasing it in a slow manner. He knew what she was talking about. Shit, it was all he was ever thinking about. But, he asked anyways.

   "Do what?" Daniel breathed. Emma pushed him away. Daniel let her. "Hurt me! Why did you hurt me! Why did you make me leave! Leave you! Why?!" Emma yelled, wiping her tears.

    "I don't know what I was thinking. What was going through my mind. I was so caught up. And I..I honestly- I don't know. All I know is that I regret it. I want you back that's all I want." Daniel said. Emma shook her head and looked down at her hands.

   Daniel stood there confused and waiting for a response. Emma looked up at him and threw her left hand up.

   Daniel looked at her and realized she was looking at the floor. Then he let his eyes travel to the hand she had thrown up as he shook his head and mumbled a 'no'.

   "Yes. I-I met him a couple months after we..we broke up. He made me happy. He made me forget everything. Everything you hurt me with. And now..now I can't..I can't focus on him. Cuz when I try and focus and realize that he is my husband or soon to be husband. My mind travels to you..to you and your blue eyes and cute gapped tooth smile and.." Emma got cut short by Daniel smashing his lips onto hers.

   Emma knew it was wrong. She knew she needed to pull back but her mind was caught in te middle and couldn't choose a side. Finally she built up the strength to push him back.

   Although her head stayed close to his. "I miss you Daniel. I miss you.." Emma said, letting her hand stay on his cheek.

   Daniel leaned his head into her hand, closing his eyes and embracing her touch. "But I can't have you..." Emma said before letting go and walking away.

   Daniel stood there shocked and saddened. When he saw her he thought he would walk off the beach with her in his arms. But, the realization of her getting married  hit and he realized that might never happen.

   Emma walked off with tears clouding her vision and a heavy weight on her heart. She wanted him. More then everything.

   But Chase was the wall between her and Daniel. And he wasn't gonna budge.
