A couple weeks later, they had just arrived in Florida, where they would be meeting up with other bands for the tour. Not only that, but they had celebrated Kloey's 18th birthday on the 30th of October and now it was Artemis's birthday, the 16th of November. "Woohoo, I'm finally eighteen!" She yelled excitedly. They, of course, had a huge party, inviting people that Artemis and Kloey knew. Andy invited Artemis to sing Ribcage, a song that was part of his Andy Black solo side career. Artemis said yes, and they set up a stage for a concert. "Hello, everyone!" Artemis yelled into her microphone. "Andy and I are singing 'Ribcage,' with the help of our bandmates!" The crowd cheered. Andy nodded to Artemis and she started singing with him.
"Nothing left, now I'm feeling numb
And just like you, I couldn't love someone
There is no one, I can belong to."
"Take you out, never bring you back again, back again, back again
Can't recall how we lost our innocence, innocence, (innocence)"
Artemis jumped and punched the air, and they went into the chorus, jumping and singing with loud, proud, voices.
"Nothing in the cage of my ribcage
Got no heart to break, like it that way!
Nothing in the cage of my ribcage
Emptiness is safe, keep it that way!"
"On the path never leading home
Cut it out from my flesh and bone
And I feel like, I can't see anything"
"Take you out, never bring you back again, back again, back again
Can't recall how we lost our innocence, innocence, (innocence)"
"Nothing in the cage of my ribcage
Got no heart to break, like it that way!
Nothing in the cage of my ribcage
Emptiness is safe, keep it that way!"
Artemis leaned over the stage and sang the next lines, Andy using his deeper voice to compliment the tune.
"Used to be, I had light
I had fire in my chest
Oh, but now I'm all out
And I've got nothing left"
Together, they sang the next part, which was a quiet, calm version of three quarters of the chorus.
"Nothing in the cage of my ribcage
Got no heart to break, like it that way.
Nothing in the cage of my ribcage."
They jumped, kicking out their legs and rocking the last few lines, jumping up and down again.
"Emptiness is safe, keep it that way!"
"Nothing in the cage of my ribcage
Got no heart to break, like it that way!
Nothing in the cage of my ribcage
Emptiness is safe, keep it that way!"
A while later, they were holding a party, a second birthday party with bands and fans, at Scream Scene, an amazing club with strobing lights and silver, sparkle-covered walls. Artemis ran over to the DJ, whispered a song suggestion into her ear, and raced back over to her group, who were waiting for her on the dance floor. Seconds later, "Welcome to the Club" was pulsing throughout the club. Artemis grabbed Kloey's hand and pulled her over to the center of the dance floor and they started dancing.
