Ashton's POV.
When I pulled over at the frat house, few cars are parked along the driveway and some are at the side of the street. It seemed odd or maybe because I just came early. I check my wristwatch, it's four minutes before seven. I didn't intended to be in here this early, It's just that I badly want to escape from my sister's nosiness.
I walked inside the house, and found out that it is not yet full and it is only filled with some familiar faces. Including James, who's sitting on the couch, snaking his arm around the blonde chick who's sitting on top of his lap.The girl's right arm wrapped around his neck, whispering something in his ear while the other is holding a red cup of beer. Harold and Luke also sitting along on the couch across them. None of the dumbasses notices my arrival until I walked towards them.
"Hey man!" Harold rose the moment he saw me and tap my shoulder. "I'd never thought you would come" he handed me a red cup, half-full of beer. I sat down on the arm of the couch beside James and the blonde chick, enough distance from them. "I'd never thought you have a very stupid fucking brain'' I mocked him and took a sip of beer in my hand. "He always have that thought, I would say." James teased and Harold stroked his middle finger at him and laughed.
I noticed Luke frowning on the other side of the couch and it seemed like he's not in the mood for shitting around. "Looks like someone is in a deep deep thoughts right now, what do you think Harry?" I brought out, looking at Harold, giving him the same thoughts I have about Luke who's staring at the ground. "Think so" said Harold with a playful tone.
"Not me, fuckers" Luke blurted, Harold and I laughed. He knew that he's the one we're talking about. He took a sip of his beer and rest his back against the couch again.
"Where's Jenny anyway?" I asked Luke. He didn't answer. "Why she's not with you?" I added.
"She's having a dinner with her parents" he replied while wiggling the cup of beer on his hand, melting the ice in it.
"That's it?" I laughed. "You look shit without her, to be fucking honest"
"Asshole" he cursed.
"Is it that's why you're being like that, because Jenny chose to spend the night with her parents and not with you instead?" James interrupted.
"Oops! That's going to be hard" I tease and finished up my drink.
"So that means, your palm will take over for tonight" Harold tease then burst into laughter, causing the beer to spill out on his shirt, but he didn't mind it.
"I guess that's gonna be it" James brought forth and slide down his hand on the thigh of the girl who is still sitting on his lap, causing her to giggle.
"No man, this is not going to be just it." Luke replied and lighten his mood up, beaming at us.
"This night won't last without hooking-up, so I'd better get some chick for tonight to mess on" He stand to his feet then walk and disappear from the kitchen.
"That's my boy!" Harold shouted. He's really is the stupid, loud and idiot person I've ever met. He's so fucking loud!
Minutes later, after losing a one round of Beer Pong, I check the time on my wristwatch and it's exactly fifteen minutes before eight o'clock. I might as well get my ass out of here before they call for another round and for some reason that I need to get home for dinner tonight with my Mum and my sister. I guess the amount of alcohol I took is enough to drive myself home.
I stepped out off the frat house and headed to my car. When I get in, I start the engine and hit the gas to drove off. I turn on the music and Counting Stars by One Republic is on track.
While driving out towards the campus gate, a girl suddenly appeared, running across the street before me. I thought she would stop but it seemed that she didn't even notice a car coming.
"Oh shit!"
I immediately hit the break together with a long beep. My head almost hit the the steering wheel, making me feel the real effect of beer that I took a while ago at the party.
I rest my forehead on the steering wheel, took a deep breath and close my eyes, taking a moment to collect myself from the unexpected scene causing by that girl--
That girl, that stupid careless girl.
"Hey! are you going to kill yourself, huh?" I shouted while still resting my head on the steering wheel. She didn't response. I expect her to barge into me for almost bumping her. But--
She didn't response at all. Fuck.
I sudden thought brought me to reality. She might be--
Shit.
I quickly lift my head up to see the girl I bumped in and found her body unconsciously laying on the ground. I quickly get my ass out off the car and run towards her. I kneeled down beside her. Her hair is blocking her face, making it difficult for me to completely recognize her.
I brushed her hair away from her face by my fingers so I could see her full face.
She looked familiar. I thought.
I leaned in and widen my eyes, just enough to recognize her clearly.
I'm surprise when I completely realized who she is.
No.
She can't be.
