Inspired by the song Shape of You by Ed Sheeran
When my friends told me were were having a girl's night, I thought it was movies and pizza at one of their houses. However, what I didn't expect was to be dressed up and sitting in a bar with a drink in front of me.
I found myself sitting in between two of my best friends, Olivia and Mackenzie. Liv talked a mile a minute about her latest job and coworkers while Mack sipped her vodka and Sprite. Liv had arrived to my house at eight in the evening with a bag full of makeup and sat me down on my toilet to make me look presentable for our night out.
While Liv straightened her black curls and she made Mack pull her red hair into a high ponytail my brown hair was curled and lips painted a dark maroon. She lined my eyes with kohl liner and made my lashes thicker and longer than normal. The makeup brought attention to my eyes, which Liv claimed were my best feature.
"Victoria, you've hardly touched your drink. It's just Jack and Coke, not poison." Liv bumped my arm and pointed to the glass in front of me. I rolled my eyes.
"First off, last time I drank that was when I was eighteen and you made it for me on my birthday. I spent the night in the bathroom. Secondly, I don't drink soda anymore. I'm going to get myself a new drink." I told her
"Well excuse me Miss. Stay In, I was just trying to get you to liven up a bit," she scoffed.
"Chill out, Olivia," Mack chided. "I'm sure Allison will drink it. She's already had one. Secondly, you were the one who forced us out of our date night."
"Sorry to make you miss some horror film and pizza," Liv commented. "I thought we could hang out. We haven't in a while."
"It's fine, Liv. I'm just gonna go get something that's more my taste."
"You go, bartender," she cheered as I got up with a chuckle. I had a part time job as a bartender while I went to school.
As I got up, I adjusted my black leather skirt. It was tight around my bottom half, pulling attention to the little curves that I had. Tucked into the skirt was a dark red top that cut low, showing more cleavage than I was comfortable with along. It was backless, the thin straps coming down my back and splitting in the middle. Luckily, I wore a black jacket when getting up and going outside so I felt more comfortable.
I walked to the bar in the back, teetering a bit in the black strappy heels Liv coaxed me into. Taking a seat, the bartender walked over to me. She was a tall woman with bright red hair and a sleeve of tattoos.
"Hey, hun. What can I make for you today?" she asked with a smile.
"A tall Ciroc red berry and lemonade and a dash of cranberry, please." I replied and took my ID from my clutch.
"I'll get right on that, can I see some ID?" she took a glass out of a cooler and looked back at me."
"Of course," I handed over the card and she looked at it and back to me. People said I looked younger than I was and hence I was carded when ever my friends dragged me out to place and got me a drink.
The bartender gave me back my card and proceeded to make my drink. She place the glass in front of me and I traded her the drink for my debit card. It was better to pay for the one than open a tab, so I could only drink one and remember was I did. My card was given back, I signed the receipt and put my card back inside my clutch along with my ID.
With my drink in one hand and my bag in another, I made my way back to the table.
Once I sat down and took a sip of my drink, Mack nudged me. "There is a super cute guy looking at you with his friends." her eyes darted to the table across from us where a group of males about our age sat.
