It was getting late, everyone agreed that the team would be spending the night at Shae's house, Shae was searching in rooms and closets looking for extra blankets.

Izabell had taken the news in roughly, Shae noticed Izabell sitting alone on the window ledge looking into the forest, her eyes were clouded with thought and her brows were slightly furrowed.

Shae filled in Laine and Maddison earlier on the matter at hand, and they formulated a quick plan. The next morning, Catherine was to drive the 16 year old's up to the bridge to the mainland in Oak Harbor. There, they would look to see if there was a help center of any kind or if anyone can fill them in about what's going on. Shae was worried they might run into someone, or something.

But he knew in his heart that everything would be fine with the group, as he carried a tedious pile of blankets and pillows into the living room. Sunny was already asleep on the sofa, and was drooling on her left hand. Ann was on her phone on the chair next to Sunny, and Maddison and Laine were sitting together on the floor next to the window that Izabell was leaning on. Shae heard Phalen's voice in the next room, along with the clinking of dinner dishes and Catherine's melodic jazz in the background. 'How long will it be until the power shuts off, hot water, running water?'  Shae thought, shivering, 'Heat?'

"Spider pig, Spider pig, does whatever a spider pig do-" Phalen walked into the room, "Dinner's ready." He spun around a couple of times then waltzed out of the room.

"What is he on?" Asked Laine helping Maddison up.

"Whatever it is, I really need some," Shae said, following Phalen into the dining room.

The table was set, awaiting 10 guests.

"Who are these extra seats for?" Asked Ann sitting at the head of the table on one side of Laine.

"Is she seriously not here yet?" Asked Catherine in an outraged tone, "The apocalypse has JUST started and my own daughter isn't home yet."

"I'm sure she's on her way," replied Maddison, giggling slightly at the apocalypse just starting comment, she look a seat next to Laine who scooted slightly closer to her from Ann, "Sunny won't be joining us, she's fast asleep."

"Good" replied Catherine taking out the vegetarian lasagna from the oven, "I gave her some cough medicine that has a sleeping drug in it, she should be better in the morning." She set the steaming plate of food onto the table.

Shae had never noticed how hungry he actually was until just then, he hadn't eaten since lunch, where he leached off of Izabell's food and anything anyone else would give him.

"I'm not hungry," Izabell said under her breath, she crossed her arms.

"Oh, stop sulking," Ann laughed, "You really need to eat, Izabell, at least a bite."

Maddison stuck out a fork full of cheese, tomato sauce and basil to Izabell who without hesitating took a bite.

"Good girl," Smirked Laine.

"I'm not a fucking dog, Laine," Shot Izabell, wiping her mouth, consciously.

"Isn't this delightful," Muttered Phalen into his hand, his big blue eyes roamed the table.

It was silent, everyone but Izabell was eating, drinking cool water and Ann was constantly checking her phone. Shae hated that Ann was always on her phone, but he knew soon there would be no need for phones. Shae looked over at Izabell, worried. It was impossible to tell what she was thinking. She looked, angry, sort of, sad?

All of a sudden the door opened and slammed closed, simultaneously two voices yelled, "WE"RE HOME!" scaring the hell out of everyone at the table.

"What the-" Maddison started, clutching her chest.
