Accepting The End [Zombie Apocalypse]

Chapter 15, a short introduction

Phillip sat as his desk, unamused, as he watched the line leading into the large doors of PANOS from the large glass windows of his office. He wished the line would thin out, because he had no time for all these needy people. Things needed to be done. People sorted. Experiments. 

"Mr. S?" a weary voice sung through the air, just loud enough to hear above the air conditioning that buzzed like a small fly. 

"Yes, Sabrina, come in," He answered, swiveling in his leather black chair to his white computer desk top, which, as Sabrina walked into the room, scanned her face with non-harmful blue lasers. 

The computer spoke. "Sabrina Cary, Age 22, Branch, Medicinal, Extra Authority, Secretary of Director." 

"I sent you the photos of Roosevelt you requested," she said over the top of the computers coded response.  

He placed his hand on the top of the white, marble desk, a blue light surrounded his hand, and pictures jumped onto the screen. They were pictures from the scene up at Lake Roosevelt. Phillip took his pointer finger and drug the photo into the air above them. 

Sabrina remained calm as Phillip flicked through the Roosevelt Lake photos, secretly writhing with anger, that the Director of PANOS was going to do absolutely nothing about this atrocity that happened. 

"How unfortunate." Phillip said, wringing his hands together, he gave the floating photo's a light tap and they were sucked back into the computer like desk. 

"So, thats it." Sabrina Carey asked, taking out her ipad and stylus , preparing for notes. 

Phillip grunted and swiveled around in his chair, "Make sure you tell Mrs. Lee Chapelle the unfortunate news." Sabrina wrote vigorously, "And make sure she comes to see me, first thing in the morning." 

Sabrina pushed up her glasses from the brim of her nose, nodded her head, and then walked out of the room, closing the glass door behind her. 

Phillip took watch over the crowd below him once more, trying to block out the Lake Roosevelt incident from his anxious mind.
