This interview is between me and aaollot who wrote Husbands its a general fiction/romance. Ill post the link below in case anyone wants to check it out ! comment what you think and like please (: thank you !

What is your story about ?

It's to do with the process of adoption for a same-sex couple in the

How do you think this story relates to people ?

Right - starting off with a difficult one! Well, there are a lot of social issues I have (or will) raise in this story including the laws of femininity, the difference between heterosexual and homosexual relationships, stereotypes and stigmas, and also the fears and responsibilities that come hand in hand with adoption - or parenting of any kind. The story can relate to any person regardless of what sexuality or whether they're adopting themselves or not since I wrote to please a wide audience (or so I hope).

Is writing difficult or simple for this story since its based on realistic stuff ?

Since I have to get every detail right and there are a lot of topics I am unfamiliar with a lot of research is required which can make it rather laborious and complicated. But that's the same with any story. Unless it's semi-biographical and you've lived through it yourself, research is required in any genre and planning. I can't write a story without days of planning beforehand - I'm just not that talented.

I see could you tell us about some your characters ?

Well my two mains are Jan and Tobi. Tobin James is a little firecracker. He's very adamant about decisions and because of that he can be a little controlling at times. He is a photographer for a newspaper and on the weekends he loves to play football with his mates. The differences between Tobi and his partner, Jan, can be summed up when they watch a football game. Tobi watches for the sport, Jan watches for the men. Jansz is soft spoken, caring and great with children, whereas Tobi is quite the opposite. But they work well together despite their differences because they depend on each other, and what Tobi lacks, Jan makes up for. The story is set in Tobi's point of view to get a more detailed experience inside the story rather than having it told from an outsider's point of view.

How did you come up with the characters personality ?

This is going to sound ridiculously cheesy, but I spoke to them. You know how when you fantasize about something you become the characters yourself and you sort of speak to yourself and mime out the situation? Well that's pretty much what I did. I started off with one scene, and then the outlines of Jan and Tobi and all their co-workers, friends, and family eventually coloured themselves in as the fantasies got more and more detailed and in-depth. It was a gradual process - I didn't just sit down one evening and draw out a map of their minds, though perhaps that would have been easier.

Haha that sounds intense ! Did you have any author who inspired you ?

Haha it could be at times! I lost a lot of hours sitting in my bedroom staring at the wall. There are quite a few authors who inspire me on a regular basis including my favourites F.Scott Fitzgerald and David Mitchell, but in terms of this story I would regrettably have to say that it wasn't an author, but a director. I recently binged on the New Normal, and although that TV show portrays some questionable ideas, that was what inspired me to try my hand at a more colloquial and breezy story like Husbands, rather than my usual, depressing dramas.

How did you come up with the title of the story ?

It was almost instantaneous - before I started writing or planning it. I just thought, what would be a good name for a book about husbands... ah. haha

Haha good, so random questions whats your favorite place to shop ?

Hmm okay. For clothing it would have to be urban outfitters but for everything else Sainsbury's!!

I'm a urban outfitters fan. Whats your favorite movie ?

Hmm it's a toss up between Scott Pilgrim vs the World, Howl's Moving Castle, and Shelter. Most of the films I watch however are adaptations from a book so I'm not sure those count.

Thats cool (: Would you like to say anything to the readers ?

hmm well... to the very few readers I have, I hope you enjoy and I hope that when you read, you get the same thoughts, ideas, and more importantly enjoyment that I do in imagining and in writing. And, thank you very much. You have no idea.
