04. ACROSS THE GARDEN.

. . . .

A BOOK on his lap with a fortress of pillow surrounding him, a blanket, and a pleasing garden scenery on the other side of the window. Taehyung loved bundling himself in his window alcove while staring at a small garden behind the hedges of his house.

The various colors from the flowers he had tended after a certain period of time looked so beautiful from above; from a perfectly measured distance, and the second storey of his house, precisely his bedroom, has the therapeutic view offered passing the layers of his eyes, capturing the said view.

Today, the windy weather brought some flower petals dancing in the air as the stem also followed its lead.

But then in the world beyond the hedges, across from a small street that separates his house from the world across it, sat a familiar girl on a bench. The girl looked so immersed by her sketchbook, once in a while would look to the front and took the view then going back to the paper, repeating the same steps over and over.

And after a few times it being repeated, Kim Taehyung had finally realized that he was the view. That hit him when they accidentally exchanged gazes.

Taking the initiative going downstairs, he grabbed the doorknob and the cold came in through the swirling frigid air, sending shivers down his spine.

He quickly grabbed his coat and wrapped himself in it before going out to meet Eloise, passing the hedges that was the main entrance and exit to his fortress of solitude.

"What are you doing here? Why are you sketching my house?" He asked upon finally getting closer to her, hugging himself as a form of defence.

"Because I like the view here," she replied in her stoic voice, expression unshaken.

Taehyung contemplated what to answer next. "Not going to lie, but seeing you here creeps me out a tad bit," he voiced honestly.

"Did I do something wrong or offensive to you? If so, I'm really sorry. I can stop sketching if that's what you want." Eloise frowned, packing her tools back to its compartment. "I just liked your house's aesthetic, that's why I had the urge to sketch it."

"N— No it's okay, you can continue. Just, just—," he bit his lips, debating whether to continue his sentence or not.

"Just?" Eloise quirked an eyebrow.

"Don't sketch in the middle of this weather, you'll catch a cold. Feel free to continue inside if you want, I know a spot where you can perfectly capture the garden's view."
