I stared at my reflection in the mirror, and my reflection peered back.
The prominent bags under my eyes peeked out from the concealer I had slipped over them, a bit of dark lipstick was smudged at the corner of my mouth, and a few specks of dried mascara littered my skin. If I was a bit tanner I probably wouldn't have been bothered by it, but black specks of mascara on pastel skin didn't always reflect a clean appearance.
Blowing out a long breath I pulled a sodden make up wipe from the pack on my desk, and began to gently dab at the astray mascara. I had to make my face look perfect, because tonight was a very important night. Tonight was the release party for our third album, Paradox, and it was going to be one of the biggest release parties we ever had.
When asked what sort of event we'd like me, and the girls had chosen a masked ball so we could wear fancy gowns, and homemade mask's that we insisted on wearing. Alot of important people were on the guest list, so we had to make sure we looked our best. Our manager Stacey said it was imperative!
''Pez are you almost done?" Jade called out, poking her head into the dressing room where I was getting ready, and I placed the wipe down as I looked at her. Like me Jade was still clothed in nothing but her undergarments, and a bathrobe because it was mandatory we do our make up first before putting on the gowns.
They could get soiled.
"I reckond I'll be ready to get dressed in a moment." I said, offering her a grin, and she returned a brief one. "Good, but Stacey wanted me to tell you talk to her first. She wants to run something really importent by you before you finish getting ready." She informed, pulling her perfectly glossed lip between her teeth, and instantly I felt like I swallowed a bloody rock.
When Stacey wanted to run something by us, especially before an event, it usually was something crucial. And crucial thing's were something to get nervous about. "Alright, tell her I'll be about in just a moment." I said, letting out a anxious breath as I turned back to the mirror. In less than a minute my appearance had gone from relaxed, and concentrated to apprehensive in it's greatest forms.
I could only hope this thing Stacey wanted to tell me was something good, or something that wasn't a big deal. Alas though this was Stacey we were talking about, so I shouldn't bet my life on it. At times it was nice having a good publicist/manager, but most of the time it was a stress fess that made you want to down a tub of ice cream.
"Perrie!" Jade shouted, tugging lightly on a loose strand of my hair, and I nearly jumped out of my skin.
I thought she left?
"Good riddance Jade you know not to sneak up on me!" I shouted, resting a hand over my heart, and Jade laughed as she put the loose hair back in place. "I asked you a question, and you didn't respond." She said, pulling her buttock up on the counter, and I rested my twitching fingers on my temples.
"I'm sorry, my thought's must've blocked the holes in my ears." I sighed, moving my hands off my face, and looking back at the mirror. My bags were beginning to sneak out more. "Well it seems your unclogged now." Jade giggled, prior to grabbing my astray make up wipe, and leaning down to get the last of the mascara specks off my face.
"I asked if you got any sleep last night." She said, biting her tongue as she gently dabbed my face. "I got a bit, but life is so demanding right now it's difficult." I said, smiling slightly before closing my eyes to count to ten.
Lately our fame had sky rocked which presented a lot of stressful situation's, insane fans (not all of them), and longer hours in the studio. I didn't even have time to breath anymore. Also I had an interview with Gretchen Bourne coming up, and one of the question's was about love.
Stacey had urged me, out of the girls, to give a well thought out answer. Here was the thing about interview's, we got the list of question about a week before, learned them, and came up with answers. Most people think interviews are natural, but about seventy-five percent of them are planned out.
Of course though the goofy stuff me, and the girls do was one hundred percent natural.
But anyways I had to give an answer to her question about love, and considering I had little experience in that field I had no idea what to say. I think the only reason Stacey chose me to answer that question was because I was the most popular.
A fact that pinched me sometimes.
"I know Pez, but right now isn't the time to think about that." She said, placing the wipe down as she slid off the counter, and stood behind me. "We are about to have a release party in the Galegon Ballroom, a place that was the inspiration for many famous scene's in Shakespere's plays. It is said that having a party there to celebrate something is good luck." She said, adjusting my ponytail before continuing.
"Meaning we're going to have the time of our life tonight, and anything can happen." She said, smiling, and I couldn't help but laugh as I felt myself relax. Jade was right, tonight wasn't the time to stress it was the time to celebrate our success, and the release of our new album.
We would have no worries tonight, and perhaps a wish or two of mine would come true.
"Your right, I need to pull myself together, because this is going to be good night." I breathed, a smile spreading onto my perplex features, and I rose from my seat. "Let's get this business with Stacey done with so we can be free to party in those ravishing gowns." I proclaimed, standing up straight a moment to examine my figure in the mirror.
I was proud of my figure.
"Right on, let's go then." Jade said, fixing her lip gloss with the tip of her finger before we both strolled out arm in arm ready to meet the night.
Meet the night in those gowns that is.
A/N: Hi guys! So I apologize that this chapter is a bit boring, but I do promise the plot will climax in the next chapter. Just had to do my fillers first xD
Thanks!
