She closed her eyes, and muttered under her breath, "Uncle Taehyung,"

Something blocked her throat, as if she was about to cry, and couldn't say a word.

I let go of her chin, and instead of being like this, I tried to have a smile on my face.

I went to the kitchen while she was still standing there. I searched the cabinets, trying to find something in order to cook.

"Do you like pancakes?"

As I expected, I received no answer. Something was telling me to scream, and break everything that was on my way, but then suddenly, I remembered that she is just a little girl.

I turned my face at her as I was still in the kitchen. "Do you even eat anything?"

Okay, Seokjin, calm down! What's wrong with you?

I let a breath out, "Listen, you can't just stand there all day," I came out of the kitchen, and walked towards her slowly, "Don't you think that it's time for us to be friends?"

As I was getting closer, she took some steps back. Then, I noticed that I was holding a knife in my hand. Shit! I scared the hell out of this innocent soul.

I placed the knife on the table, and held her arms with my hands as I knelt down in front of her. I smiled, "Where do you want me to take you?" But, she didn't respond. "How about we go to the park in order to have some fun?"

Oh, come on, Seokjin! You're going way too fast! Hold your horses, man!

Suddenly, the telephone started ringing. I stood up, and headed towards it in order to pick it up. "Hello?"

"Doctor Kim?"

"Yes, it's me," I replied. "Who's this?"

"It's me, Officer Lee," He paused for a bit. "We met in the hospital. I talked to some of my friends at the court to have your back, remember?"

"Oh, hi! Sorry, I didn't recognize your voice at first."

"It's alright," He said. "How is everything going?"

I didn't know what to say. To be honest, it wasn't going very well, but I just couldn't say that to the officer.

"Everything's great," I lied. "I think she already likes being here," I looked at her when I was talking on the phone. She was looking back at me, but when she noticed that I was keeping my eyes on her, she looked away, and walked towards the couch to sit on it. "There's nothing to be worried about."

"I'm glad to hear that," He said. "Call me if you need anything. I would be happy to help."

I smiled, "Sure." Then, I hung up the phone, and let a breath out.

I headed back to the kitchen in order to cook something. I didn't know whether she liked pancakes or not, but I gave it a try.

I put pancakes in a plate, picked the plate up, and walked towards the couch in order to sit beside Chaerin.

"It smells good," I said, looking down at the pancakes as I was putting the plate down on the couch, beside her. "I'm sure that it tastes good, too."

I started to eat it, "Yummy!"

I was trying my best in order to make her talk to me, but it seemed useless.

I continued eating as I was looking at her. I was pretending that it was delicious though it really was, but I needed to grab her attention.
