My Best Friend

Lunch

Emily's POV:
I wake up at 10 am, I get dressed and head to the kitchen. I fix myself some cereal and clean the kitchen for mom. I finish the rest of my chores and go wait on the porch for Laine. He finally pulls up and I tell my mom and dad bye and get in Laine's truck. We head to a small cafe that's in town. We didn't talk at all on the way there. We finally made it to the cafe and we got out and went in. The waitress showed us our seats. We ordered our food and talked.
CONVERSATION BETWEEN LAINE AND EMILY:
Emily: So, what did you need to talk to me about?
Laine: Okay, so, the other day when I told you how I felt, I want to know if you feel the same way.. I understand if you don't, it's not going to destroy our friendship.
Emily: *Takes a deep breath* Laine.. ok, I will admit I do like you more than a friend... I mean it's hard not to. You're sweet, funny, and have a great personality.
Laine: *smiles* now, my turn. Emily, I've liked you since 1st grade. I never said anything because we were always too young to date or anything and I didn't even know what dating was. I'm glad we share the same feelings. So, would you like to go to dinner with me tonight?
Emily: aww Laine, I'd love to go to dinner with you :)
Laine: Good, I'll pick you up at 7!
Emily: Okay :)
Laine: I'm so glad that's off of my chest.. *laughing*
Emily: Me too. *laughing*

Laine's POV:
I honestly can't believe we share the same feelings, it seems so unreal. I'm glad to be on my way to making Emily mine. This dinner tonight is going to be perfect. The waitress brings us our food and we eat. After we eat, we decide to go back home. When I pulled into Emily's driveway, she got out and said "See ya at 7!" I smile and say, "See ya at 7." She goes inside and I back out of her drive. Man, can 7 come on already?
Emily's POV:
"What are you all smiles about?" My mom asks me when I walk in the house. I shake my head and say, "nothing but, will it be okay if I go out with Laine for dinner tonight at 7?" My mom looks at me wide eyed and smiles. She then says, "of course, be home by 11. And I had no idea you liked Laine." I smile and head to my room. I get my phone out and text Mikayla.
TEXT MESSAGES:
Emily: OMG guess what!!
Mikayla: Wat?
Emily: I have a date tonight!
Mikayla: seriously???
Emily: yep!
Mikayla: with who? Don't tell me you gave into Josh?
Emily: eww no.. it's Laine...
Mikayla: OMG! FR? I thought you two were just best friends?
Emily: We are but, today it changed.
Mikayla: omg! I'm so happy for you guys! So what time is your date?
Emily: ty! And 7.
Mikayla: yw and want me to come help you get ready?
Emily: Ya, that'd be awesome!
Mikayla: ok I'll be there at 5!
Emily: ok ttyl!
