Friendzoned?

I put all the book that were checked back in by the people who borrowed them. I sat down in the chair behind the desk finally done I thought. Then someone placed a book in front of me I looked down at the book it's ''Eye of Minds by James Dashner''.

N E W T

I look up to see Newt smiling his eyes sparkling his hair a little bit messy like he just woke up but he looked amazing. I could stare at him all day my mouth was hanging out I couldn't help it. ''Close you're mouth you'll catch flies'' Newt said with a goofy smile on his face. I blushed and took the book I went over to the teen fiction section putting the book where it belongs. Newt was right behind me I could feel his breath on my skin I turned our faces were inches apart it reminded me of when I was wrapping my arms around him. 

His warm brown eyes looking at me making me wanting to melt. ''So since we're friends'' Newt started

NOOOOOOOOOOO! 

   I was screaming inside was I being friendzoned? After we are inches apart and when I put my arms around him and he even called it flirting when we were texting. I text him that's sometimes not friend stuff I was now completely mortified, upset, and angry. Is this because of Minho? Did he realize he actually had feelings for Minho? Questions went throughout my head.

  Newt was talking but I didn't hear any words his lips are moving but I can't hear anything. He snapped his fingers in front of my face ''Hello Tommy?'' Newt said getting my attention. ''Yeah?'' I said ''Ok great see you soon'' Newt said smiling brightly. ''Where and when?'' I said cluelessly I really should've paid attention ''The cafe and in about 30 minutes be there'' Newt said as he left before I could say a word.

So do people who like each other more then friends.

I was now worried I was in the friendzone I needed to get out of there. But how? After thinking for about 10-15 minutes I realized I needed to get ready soon. I went home I took a quick shower then threw on an plain white t-shirt then some jeans. After I put my shoes on I kept thinking of ways to show Newt that I shouldn't be in the friendzone as I scrolled through our text messages I stumbled across one.

Newt💞: It's just I'm not that type of person who rushes things I don't like to kiss on first dates, I don't believe in love at first sight, and I like to go through friend-stage to boyfriend-stage.

I jumped up and down in excitement and happiness. He clearly said ''I like to go through the friend stage to the boyfriend stage'' then maybe he's not putting me in the friendzone. All of my worries suddenly went away as a wave of relief washed over me. Also we do have things not in common I believe in love at first sight because I met him I met Newt.
