The rest is honestly a blur. I remember being pulled away by security for questioning.
The paramedics took the young girl to the hospital and they told me that her parents were called. They didn't give me a status update on how she was doing because I'm not a relative. I was the one who noticed her though. She could have been no more than 14. I'm surprised she was at a concert alone. Unless her friends were actually around and they didn't do anything, that would have been a really shitty thing to do though.
Now I'm just sitting on the white colored couch, knees pulled up towards my chest as I stare down. My hair frames my face, blocking everyone out. We are still at the lounging area that Melanie and Chase stayed at during the concert.
I can feel Mel soothingly rubbing my arm while Chase sits close beside me in a comforting manner.
"How the hell did this happen at my concert," multiple pair of footsteps are heard down the hallway. "I place dozens of security guards around the arena to make sure things like these don't happen. She was convulsing on the ground for over 5 minutes and no paramedics were called. Do I need to hire new security?" A familiar frustrated voice shouts.
I look up slightly, red eyes puffy. I met his gaze and his eyes soften, a feature I hadn't ever seen on him before.
Chase instantly stands up and strides towards Everett, pulling him to the side. Melanie stays beside me. I pull my knees tighter, knowing exactly what Chase is going to tell Everett.
Any normal person would be shaken up by this but at this point I'm breaking down. No longer the sassy girl that I was earlier.
My junior year of highschool, I was walking the hall with a bathroom pass when I bumped into a young boy. He was probably a freshman.
I was heading back to class when he all of a sudden crashed to the floor. There was no loud music clouding my thoughts so I automatically called 911. Tears rolled down my face as they pulled him onto a stretcher.
His name was Andy. They brought me to the hospital to answer questions and as they pulled him into the halls of the hospital, he had another seizure. It was a fatal complication of epilepsy.
It was sudden and unexpected. They told me he didn't feel any pain as he passed.
He had just turned 14 and he died right before my eyes.
It was traumatic to say the least. When this girl started having a seizure, the flashbacks came flooding in. It's like I'm reliving that moment. I'm just hoping that her fate isn't the same as Andy's because I think I'll lose it.
"Carter."
I shake my head, not looking up.
"Carter." He's persistent. I feel a heavy hand on my shoulder. I look up, meeting Everett's green eyes. I bet my dark brown ones right now are tainted with red from all the crying.
I feel so vulnerable at this moment. It's a foreign feeling for me.
"I-is she okay?" I croak out, a hiccup escaping my lips as I say the last word. I can feel the stickiness of my black mascara mixed with tears. It's for sure run down my face by now.
"We don't know yet," His voice comes out as a whisper, as if testing the waters to make sure I won't burst into tears. "They told me you were smart for turning her onto her side though. You most likely saved her. Seizures don't usually lead to fatal consequences, so breathe." He gives me shoulder a squeeze.
I nod, "I won't leave until I know she's okay."
"I thought you'd say that. They need you for more questioning anyways. We have to leave this venue soon though. Maybe your friends can head back with you to my loft. Security will be there until we have to go back to the hospital."
