I was currently in one of Everett's oversized long sleeved t-shirts. It was such a soft cotton material. I was literally wearing a cloud. Well, they weren't oversized on him, as we've clearly established. It's not like I drowned in his shirt either. In fact, if I were to bend down, he would probably see my black underwear.
And that would be worse than the time Kim Kardashian lost her diamond earring in Bora Bora.
That is why I am staying put on the kitchen island stool. A soft white towel was wrapped around my hair in a tight twirl.
It's not like I intended getting wet in his pool. It just sorta happened.
Everett stood across me on the other side of the kitchen island counter. He was now in a looser white shirt and light grey sweats that tightened at his ankles.
"Whipped cream?"
I nodded, a small smile on my face. It wasn't winter but Everett was making us hot chocolate. Actually, it was May 1st. It's been sunny these past few days but it's still spring, so there is no doubt that it'll rain this month.
Things were silent. Not awkwardly silent but a comfortable silence ever since we got out of the pool.
I guess the 'oh so famous and unbelievable hot' Everett Adler wasn't so bad. He was good company, and hey, if he made me hot chocolate, I wasn't going to deny hanging out with him.
I get giddy when a large white mug is placed in front of me. The swirl of whipped cream is piled so high that it almost toppled over onto the counter. Luckily, I react quickly and place my mouth over it, licking it up.
My face heats up from embarrassment when I look up and Everett is staring at me intently, biting his lip.
I feel something on the corner of my lip and I bring my finger to wipe the bit of the whip cream.
Oh god. That must have looked so wrong.
"You perv! Is this all teenage boys think about?" My face is about the shade of a ripe tomato.
Everett's face tints a rosy color after he releases a awkward cough. He goes to drink his hot chocolate in silence and I roll my eyes.
Such boyish antics.
My phone vibrates and I distract myself by glancing at it.
Mel: Dude, you never showed up to lunch. Where are you? Chase had a mini freak out session lol.
Chase: Carter did you get kidnapped? You never miss lunch because I always bring you PB&J sandwiches. CARTERRRR
I stifle a laugh and reply to Chase.
Carter to Chase: I'm fine. Couldn't handle being bombarded with questions on Everett so I dipped
I sent the same message to Melanie.
Mel: Oh my god, you are totally with him! Don't deny it. It's the best friend telekinesis
Chase: Ok. I ate the sandwich anyways. Sorry I was hungry :/
I didn't bother replying to Melanie's text because I knew she was going tease me about it. Hell, she's definitely going to tease me about it tomorrow anyways.
"Your friends?" I jump up slightly, completely forgetting that Everett was in front of me.
"Yeah," I reply, "thanks for the drink." I lift the mug slightly in gesture.
"You're so damn mysterious. Most people I meet are open books, but you Adrianna? I can't figure you out."
I freeze, my lips forming a thin line.
