"I'm Phoebe Lux and this is my partner Xavier Ymir." A red head introduced us to her darker headed conpanion. She was pretty in an ordinary way, her features dainty and pleasant on her face. The only thing that really struck me was her two moles under her brown eyes.

The black haired boy wasn't handsome but beautiful. He could pass for a girl if not for his jelled down mohawk. He wore a black leather jacket over a yellow smiley face shirt. The outfit was adorned with ripped blue jeans.

Both looked they could be seniors in high school or freshman in college. Except for the weapons they carried. The boy carried a staff and the girl had dual pistols.

"I'm Leonardo Incitti and this is Ruby Smith. Pleasure to meet such lovely ladies." I held back my laughter at this when Xavier looked annoyed.

"I'm clearly a dude." His voice was deeper than Leo's which helped prove his point.

"My bad, man." He held out his fist to bump but Xavier came over to greet me.

"Hello Ruby. Must be hard working with someone so rude." He said. "But thanks for calling me lovely."

Leo had flushed with embarrassment as he shook hands with Phoebe.

"I'm glad to see everyone is well acquainted. I have some business to take care of. You all should go to the stone city. We have finished our training. I'll meet you all soon." With that, Mr.Thomas disappeared in a cloud of smoke.

"So he just wanted to dump us on you guys, figures." Leo sighed but I could tell he was happy to get away from him. Mr. Thomas went from a wonderful teacher to an unknown variable especially when he tried to put us against each other.

"How far is this city?" I turned to the older teens.

"A day away if you walk slow, half a day if we speed walk." Xavier said.

"Do you have any thing that can make us go faster?" Leo complained which was weird because I knew he had endless reserves of energy. But the way he avoided my stare meant it was probably for me.

"Yeah but I only have enough power to put it on one person." Xavier said. "I used alot of my power to bring Phoebe and I here."

"She needs it so that will be fine." Leo said pointing to me. My face betrayed me as it heated when he winked at me. My body is such a traitor.

Xavier handed my three leaves.

"When you feel wind say now and I will cast the spell. If you can't do this correctly then you may end up with a slow down spell." He warned. We stood still waiting for wind to come but there was none.

"Maybe we should go to a hill or something." Phoebe suggested. "Plus we need to get out the forest before night or we may find some nasty creatures."

"That sounds better than waiting." Leo said. But he didn't seem impatient this time.

We walked on until there was a hill with a lot of wind. It was a hilly plain with vibrant green grass and few lavender flowers. I could see the forest from where I stood.

"Now." I called out and Xavier began chanting in a language I could not begin to guess. It sounded like a mixture of german and korean. As soon as he finished a green light surrounded me and the leaves became earrings in my ear.

"You should be twice as fast as usual. The charm works for six hours."

I walked a little but it felt snd seemed like I jogged.

"Cool. Now I wanna race you." Leo admired childishly. I rolled my eyes as we continued to the forest.

"Could I see this thing that Mr.Thomas called an Iphone?" Phoebe asked in a low voice to me.

"Sure." I pulled it out and she touched it gingerly.

"Does it turn on?"

"Usually but it's dead. I need a charger."

"Charger? You mean electricity or what I like to use which is an electricity spell." She said. "I think I may be able to charge it."

She grabbed it and muttered in that otherworldly language and my phone turned on and was at one hundred percent.

"Woah. Leo give her your phone." I called to him from in front. "She can charge it."

She held her hand out a maple leaf fell out of her enclosed hand. It floated gracefully to the ground. My mind immediately flashed back to Leo talking about trusting the people with the maple leaf. I think we have completed our group.
