SUNDAY
"Give it back!"
"No.It's mine! Get your own!"
"You poohead!"
I got up from the sofa to examine what all the fuss was about; Walking along the corridor, the two girls voices got louder as I walked nearer. I stopped at a halt when I saw them in plain view ,on the kitchen island ,fighting over a cereal box (yes ,a cereal box)
"Sally! Mandy! Get down from there now!"
They did as instructed but proceed in giving each other dirty looks .I grabbed the cereal box out of their tiny palms and watched as their faces dropped .
"why in the hell where you two fighting over a cereal box?" I sighed ,putting it back on the top shelf among all the other cereals and starchy foods.
"Mummy brought ME that cereal .It's my favourite .She didn't buy it for that's stupid crybaby Sal-"
"Have you two ever heard of sharing ? Come on ,you two are sisters."I tutted at them .It's funny how quickly my mood has changed and how easily I've forgiven them .That's one thing babysitting has taught me- to be calm with children so they comprehend what you're saying and HOPEFULLY not make the same mistake again .
The two sisters looked at each other and grinned -"that was quite funny" Sally said. On cue ,they both burst out laughing and my presence didn't make them stop .In fact ,it made them continue .
"We were -hahah-fighting over a -a - CEREAL BOX!" Mandy giggled in between laughs .
I stood there trying to maintain my adult babysitter persona .But it was hard since they wouldn't stop laughing and the situation was quite humorous to be honest .
"Girls ,I'm home!"
I immediately stopped laughing ,hushed the young girls and walked to the main hall with Sally and Mandy on my side .
"Mummy !" They both squealed as if they had just been told they are going to Disneyland -each child would react the same -grinning from ear to ear and squealing full of happiness.
They jumped into their mother's arms and kissed her numerous times on the cheek .
"Did you girls have fun with Vivienne? Did you behave yourselves?" She asked ,looking up at me .
I had made a mental note in my head to forget the cereal incident .Even though it would be the right thing to tell her ,I agreed not to as these girls most likely won't do it again .
"Yes mummy .we had so much fun"
"Vivienne took us to the park and we all had yummy ice cream .oh and guess what flavour I had ,mummy ?"
"We watched Frozen and Vivienne let us sing Let it go and we danced around the whole entire house "
"Looks like you all enjoyed yourselves" Their mother ,Mrs Eton ,grinned nodding her head .
"Thank you so much Vivienne, your a big help" She said ,wrapping her arms around me .An aroma of vanilla and coconut filled my nose as I breathed in her sweet and well known scent .She let go and got her purse out of her pocket .She handed over £10 and gave me a kind and thankful smile .
That's how I knew I did well - the smile .It ment a lot more than a simple thank you; rather a 'i don't know what I'd do without you ' and a 'i wish I could adopt you'
As much as I'd like to get adopted by Mrs Eton ,I've got my own family to report back to .They aren't as bubbly and as fun but we carry the same blood and without them ,I'd still be a lonely little sperm swimming around.
I look up at the clock and notice it distinctly read 6:48pm meaning that its time to get going.
I crotched down and put my arms around Sally and Mandy ,hugging them tightly .I whispered a goodbye and then got up to hug Mrs Etson once again .
As I reached the front door ,I turned and voiced a "byeeee!" .In an instant , I left the house and began walking down the path way heading for my house.
