Percy grew more and more tired as the round never ended, he made a weak swing at Nico once more.
In the past two months he had gotten stronger and stronger at an oddly rapid pace. As if to prove his point, while Percy was sweating like crazy and Nico seemed to be relaxed, like they were arm wrestling and not training with swords.
All his attempts at defeating the younger demigod had failed, it was as if Nico could now move faster than the speed of light.
Percy dove again trying to get the upper hand, but this time Nico disarmed him with a lazy of his wrist. Percy's sword went flying out of the arena.
"I give, you win." Percy said in an pant. It was the third time that day he had been beaten. Nico twirled his sword and stuck it back into his sheath and untied the armor around his forearms .
"Okay, see you later." He muttered with a casual wave. But before he could put down his sleeve, Percy caught the sight of a strange marking on the back of his hand, it was like a curly eye burned into his skin. Percy narrowed his eyes in suspicion.
Nico turned and hurried away to his cabin only now with Percy in tow. Nico, now being taller than the older demigod, he was much faster. With one last push Percy lurched himself at Nico. Grasping the taller boys arm in one hand, Percy shoved the black fabric away from the arm it covered, revealing the marks filling Nico's entire right arm do much more clearly. He had noticed it before when they were training, but never had he imagined there would be so many.
Nico ripped his arm away savagely. Forcing the cloth over his skin, he glared intensely at Percy. "What?"
"What are those? Tattoos? Burns?" Percy found him self himself chasing after Nico in a rush to get some information out of the boy.
He couldn't tell Percy about his other life. He just wouldn't understand, he'd think that he had gone crazy. Demons and evil murderers trying to take control of a hidden race? He just wouldn't understand.
Nico stomped up the steps of his cabin. Sadly Percy was still hot on his trail, shooting questions left and right.
He had to put an end to this. "Just shut up and leave me alone! I'm not telling you anything, so stop asking before someone gets hurt!" He yelled at the son of Poseidon.
The younger demigod turned around and stormed into his cabin. Percy heard rustling and metal clashing. Not a minute later he felt the air get cold and heavy signaling that the boy had shadow traveled away.
Slowly Percy crept inside the dark cabin. Just by looking around nothing seemed too unusual well not unusual for a son of Hades. Percy was just about to leave when he saw something reflecting from between the closet doors. Carefully, he walked towards it, pulling the doors open with his hands, he stepped back to look at what he found.
And froze.
.................................
Just as he was about to open the doors to the New York Institute, Nico heard a low and malicious hiss from behind. He turned around and stared into the eyes of a Revenor demon.
Annoyed, he pulled out a seraph blade. All he had wanted to do was relax before Jace was to bound come along and drag him off on a meaningless hunt.
The demon lunged and Nico attempted to sidestep away, but was grabbed by the demon.
Now pinned, he struggled and made a weak attempt for his blade which had fallen from him.
"I don't come to cause you any harm, son of Hadesss... " Hissed the revenor, it's voice gravely. "I come with only a warning, a war is nearing, and you are at the center of it all... "
Nico, to say the least, was shocked.
"A war? What the hell are you talking about?" The revenor had a twisted smile. "Yesss...hell indeed..- "The revenor suddenly choked as a seraph blade went through it and it exploded throwing guts all over Nico.
He looked up to see Jace standing over him. "By the angel Nico, I can't leave you alone for a minute can I? Get up we have a city to disappoint."
