-The next morning-

"Hi mom how did you sleep?" I asked as I kissed her cheek serving her breakfast.

She was sitting down at the table as I served myself. Jessie and I once again got into an argument last night.

Hopefully my mom didn't hear us.

"Fine. I slept very good" she said sipping her coffee. "But you want to talk about last night?" She asked as I sighed.

-last night-

I sat down on the couch waiting for Jessie to come home as he didn't make it to dinner.

His co-worker Tyler had sent me a message saying Jessie wasn't going to work late tonight as I asked him but Jessie hadn't returned.

Soon I see the front door open in front of me. "Jessie" I said getting up as I tried not yelling as my mother was sleeping. "Where have you been?" I asked as he set down his keys on a table next to the front door.

"Relax, I was working late"

"No you weren't" I said as he nodded his head.

"Yes I was. What's your problem?" He asked as I rolled my eyes at him.

"Jessie...why are you lying? Tyler told me you weren't working late tonight. You haven't been working late nights have you?" I asked trying to make him tell me the truth.

"No, Mon. I have been working late at night. Look if you don't trust me I can get myself a hotel to sleep tonight"

"Go ahead because I don't believe you"

"Fine" he said going upstairs as I immediately followed him. "Jessie" I said. "I wasn't being serious. Just please tell me if you haven't been working late so you can tell me the real reason why"

"No I don't have any explanation for you because I have been working late" he said grabbing a bag putting one night of clothing in it.

"Jessie wait" I said grabbing the bag from him. "I don't want to fight. I believe you" I said just so he can stay even though I didn't believe him.

"No I'm leaving" he said grabbing the bag from me and walking away.

-recent time-

"He hasn't returned mom" I sighed sipping my coffee.

"Oh sweetie he'll come back. He probably went to work. Why didn't you believe him?" She asked as I shrugged my shoulders.

"I don't know mom. It's just- something in my heart tells me he not being one hundred percent honest with me. Mom... do you think he's cheating on me?"

"Sweetheart, you're talking about the man who you are going to marry. If he's cheating on you, why would he travel all the way to your hometown just to ask to be your wife? He could have done it here in California but instead he did it in your favorite place. With your favorite memories"

"Yeah" I smiled. "Maybe you're right"

"Maybe? I am right" she smiled as I see my phone light up.

It was Sammy.

Hey can we talk?
