every member of the losers is a 'loser' for a reason ━ that reason being that they have a certain quality that makes them 'freaks' or weird in the eyes of the other kids in derry. like stan, he's ridiculed for having glasses & acne, and even being jewish (which is really shitty but), and beverly's hated bc she's poor and prettier than the mean girls, so they spread rumors that she's a 'slut' and ridicule her with that fake rumor.
like this; ben ━ new kid, slightly overweight, spends all his time in a library mike ━ homeschooled, african-american bill ━ stutters, & his brother is missing eddie ━ "girly boy," overprotective mother, takes a lot of medicine & is a germaphobe richie ━ poor, sickly pale/thin, glasses, he makes a lot of dirty/inappropriate innuendos, but mainly does a lot of weird voices etc.
SO
it's totally natural to want to make your oc(s) a loser like the rest of them (which is usually the main point of an it fic's plot), but to do so, you're going to have to give your oc a quirk.
and you probably shouldn't do one that the other loser's have, unless it's something that's easy to tie into the plot (a different race, has acne/glasses, very short/tall), since that can be very boring & unoriginal ━ and make your character look like a carbon copy of another.
plus, you're not going to have a total popular golden girl/boy (like many of y'all just love to create) randomly fall in w/ richie or another loser, and suddenly be called freak or slut or weirdo by henry or greta, or another derry kid! that simply doesn't make sense, yet i've seen it in fanfictions all the time

i'm here to help you out & give you a list of quirks/differences your character could have, to make them a part of the loser's club :))
━ always writing in diary/notebook ━ kissed someone of their same sex & now referred to as "faggot" or "dyke" (never use these slurs unless you're lgbtq yourself) ━ very shy/innocent ━ family scandal became public (i.e., their sibling or parent's suicide, a member of the family in a mental institute, affair between parents, etc.) ━ they're just invisible/ignored and not an outcast, but not in the "in" crowd either ━ obsessive interest in something the rest of their classmates think is weird
