"What?! No Mom. This can't be true. I won't do that. Y'all better leave without me. I'll stay with Jen," I shouted, devastated at what my Mom had said.

"Stop it Mel. I'm saying you. We're leaving just a day after tomorrow. You and Jake better start packing your suitcases and bags." All that I could do was nothing except for weeping in a corner.

By the way, I'm sorry I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Melanie, Melanie Williams. People call me Mel, short for Melanie. I'm 15 and I live in Liverpool. My Dad's being transferred to Texas. And so I have to leave Livepool, which is the last thing I would ever want. However, my brother Jake's really happy about it as he always wanted to live in the U.S.A. He always complained about not living there. Let me tell you he's a real NUISANCE.

Finally the day came when we had to leave the beautiful place. I woke up at 5 a.m. in the morning and went Jen's home where my friends had arranged a farewell party for me. I know it's weird to hear about early morning parties as parties usually take place at night. Anyways, I had a lot of fun there with my friends. My eyes were filled with tears. I didn't want to leave them. I hugged each one them tight, knowing that maybe I won't be able again. Still I promised them to give a visit to Liverpool in holidays. Jen and Tom came to drop me home after the party.

I got inside, carrying loads of gifts my friends had given me.
"Mel, how many times should I tell you not to go anywhere without informing me. You know I was so worried. Atleast your brother listens to me more than you do. You should learn something from him," shouted my Mom. "But Mom It's the last day. I went to the party my friends had arranged for me. And Jake is a liar. He always -
"Enough Mel. No need to speak anything about Jake. Now just go to your room. We'll be leaving after an hour," said my Mom. I did as I was told. Couldn't believe that my life would change completely after an hour.
I still prayed for not leaving Liverpool. It's the place where I grew up. How was I supposed to leave the place? Why couldn't I just live there forever. As I has said earlier, leaving Liverpool was the last thing I ever wanted. I could leave anything for Liverpool. But anyways, I knew that I had to leave.

An hour later, I heard my Dad calling us. "Mel, Jake c'mon. We're to leave," said my Dad. "Coming Dad," we replied. We both went down with our bags and suitcases.

Outside the house was waiting Lotus Cortina to drop us at the airport. "Cool," my brother squeaked on seeing the car.

"C'mon. Get in the car everyone. We need to hurry up or we'll be late. I don't wanna miss the flight. Get in," said Dad.

We got in the car. Jake's happiness had no bounds. He looked super excited. However, I was just thinking about my fate. I hoped for missing the flight, or something like that so that we don't have to go anywhere else."

We soon arrived at the airport and headed to the terminal. We got the tickets, transferred our luggage, and went through the security check. We brought ourselves some milkshakes and chocolates whilst waiting for the flight to take off.

"It would be great Dad. New city, new friends, new life. I can't express my excitement in words. How happy I'm feeling today!," exclaimed Jake. Of course Dad couldn't expect such a thing from me.

"Yes son. Texas would be great. Right Mel?," said Dad. "Yeah of course," I replied monotonously.

Soon the flight took off. I had a last glimpse of Liverpool, hoping to visit it again.

And we were off to Texas, leaving Liverpool.
